You are either in the 20 million dollar club or you are out.

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

UNC could stay in the south with the Big 12, we are taking it over.

Interesting stuff on the money side of it.  While you could have teams like Iowa State and Kansas earning a lot more money than FSU/Clemson, I don’t think that necessarily translates to W’s on the field.  Hell, look at Florida, they’ve outearned FSU recently (right?) but have not translated that into wins.  I firmly believe that the coaching staff and recruits/players are better at FSU and that’s not something that you can just throw money at and immediately fix, well maybe with the coaching staff but you woudl still need a team who can analyze what a good coach is (not Muschamp).  The recruits will still come to FSU because it’s where they’ve probably always wanted to play.

Serious cash short falls in the long run down grade your program and ability to win. You cannot pay coaches or their assistants the going rate, you cannot upgrade the facilities to match other schools.

Alabama is on a roll now simply because they can afford to pay Saban 6 million dollars a year where other schools cannot. His staff is also one of the highest paid in college football.

UF making 25 million soon as opposed to FSU making 12 million for a number of years poses a serious problem. UF already pays their recruits a top flight wage scale.

I second the notion that UNC is not going anywhere any time soon. If the ACC were to die out UNC would most likely end up in the Big10. I would not like that. I’d love to see UNC in the SEC yesterday. That, too is very unlikely. I kind of see UNC, Dook, and UVa as a package deal. I wish that weren’t so. In the end I think the ACC is viable, and UNC will be in it. The school has a lot going for it, but forward thinking in the Athletic and Academic offices may not be one of them.

By the way, Davis Love III’s golf course at Eagle Pointe kicked my hind end pretty good this past Sunday. What a great day anyway! Two of my friends, me, and few alligators surviving a few bands from the tropical storm. The day was fun, and I hope to do it again.

I’m quite lucky. I have a lovely wife, two great kids and an ever improving golf game.

I would believe your forward thinking comment if the old regime was in place.

I think going outside of the Carolina family was smart by hiring Cunningham as AD and Fedora as coach…
