A dose of tongue in cheek humor with some good links.

I actually think the Maryland field would be cool…and hot when the sun hit it.

I think the Maryland field would look cool like that too. I would reserve black to night games and they can do a true black out of their opponent. For every other game, have a white field.

I think the best and most fair thing to do to get the football schools a better return on their investment into their programs is allow all schools to keep a bigger share of their post-season revenue and any school that did not make the post season in that particular sport does not get any share. It will prod all schools to make that investment in their athletics.

They are turning themselves into a circus freak-show rather than a legitimate football team…..

Interest has sagged and Randy Edsall so far has not helped. Locksley seems to be though and maybe they can turn it around.

It worked for Oregon!

Edsall had to weed out some guys that were bad eggs or did not want to adapt to his coaching. It’s too early to say that he was a bad hire. I think he will get another pass this year if his team is competitive and falls just short of a bowl game. Firing him after such a season Maryland would have to buy out his contract and pay another coach to rebuild the team.

I think the NCAA just added a “boise state” rule that all fields must be a natural (green->yellowish brown) color and jerseys cannot match the field

smurf turf will be granfathered in of course, but it will help in the future, and i think they have to play with white jerseys at home now…ill see if i can find some documentation on it, but i remember hearing that proposal

Yes that was true of the smurf turf, although I believe a D3 got to put in a red turf somewhere.  Boise had to switch away from their blue uniforms when they went from the Big West to the MWC.  I watched them play a couple of games and with their modern uniforms that seem to change from game to game, the shade of gray they had chosen for one of the games I watched wasn’t much better than the blue.

Tick…

Not to change the subject, but the ESPN Clemson board has become a cesspool over there.  I saw what you said after I took a few shots.  Those USC fans really make the few good ones look really bad.  I would mind getting a few like “Boro” and “Leap of Faith” over.

Yes that place is caving in like the temple of doom on Indiana Jones.  I’m glad I’m already on the other side of the rope bridge.  I absolute hate that Norwood guy…no logic, no reason, no listening, no timing, no thought process…..not to mention he posts things that don’t even follow the context of what he’s replying to.  I think Boro and Joe would be better served over here but I haven’t seen anything from either of them in a while.

Are there some good USC fans?

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.
