This is not another “Clemson to the Big 12” thread…I promise.

But it is a rather thought provoking read from Forbes Magazine on how the ACC/ESPN deal may have been a poorly negotiated deal from Swofford:

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

It seems like recycled information to me. I’ve heard this before except I did not know NCSU made nearly half of what UTenn makes on their multi-media rights, but it’s also not too surprising either.

The next 2 years are going to be a huge challenge in holding the league together. If nobody leaves, then the ACC will be a viable conference in the long run.

I think if the Big12 is going to expand, they better do it soon. Once the ACC starts winning BCS bowl games, even if it happens after this coming season, there is a good chance that FSU and Clemson will hang around expecting a raise in the next “look in”.

This is the most important part, the refs better stop F-ing over FSU. If the ACC thinks they are going to get away with it and not have reprocussions, they are sadly mistaken.

There is no way Notre Dame will ever consider joining the ACC if they have to give up all of their tier 3 rights.  That will never happen.

Even if the ACC wins a BCS game after this season, the BCS’s future is in jeopardy…it probably won’t exist by the next look in.  I don’t see them hanging around anywhere but the B12.

Likely ESPN told the ACC what it expected from them to increase their contract. I’d guess BCS or other high profile wins or championships.

The BCS has no future, it is like going to Carolina in your mind.
