Matt Smith just wrote a tremendous article for us detailing Missouri athletic director Mike Alden’s take on the Tigers’ move to the SEC (http://www.southernpigskin.com/SEC/view/mizzou-ad-well-be-competitive-in-sec). Alden seems to the think that Mizzou can compete right away. How do you see the season playing out for Mizzou?

I think their first 6 games offers a shot of being 4-2 with likely loses to USC and UGA….

Their second 6 games again have the potential of 4-2 with likely loses to Bama.  UF, Tennessee, UK, Syracuse, aTm, all have significant question marks.

I think they can be an 8 win team mainly because of who they don’t play in the SEC this year rather than who they play.

BTW…Great move on the article!

If I was a Georgia fan, I’d be extremely worried about having to travel to Mizzou in week two. Missouri has an outsanding passing game which will be even better with the addition of Dorial Green-Beckham, and the Dawgs could be missing three-fourths of their starting secondary for the Mizzou game.

They’ll be fine… I think Georgia will be beat em… But they’ll be fine in the SEC… Certainly won’t win any championships… But they’ll definitely be competitive.

They will probably improve on their record they had last season in the Big-12.

have some faith, theres still plenty of time for the rest of the defense to get suspended

That’s a strong read. I think Mizzu will be able to recruit much better. But they will take time. I see them winning 7 or 8 this year.
