Ingram Smith expects the FSU BOT to give president Barron the go ahead to begin talks with the Big 12. Smith has proven to be very close to FSU planning in the past as he corrected a Chuck Oliver net piece concerning FSU not leaving for the Big 12 sometime ago.
Been some recent reports of FSU not really having their ducks in a row and the paperwork not quite ready. Some say they won’t make the August deadline…..hope these people are mistaken.
That doesn’t compute for me, where did you see that? It wasn’t in a North Carolina newspaper was it?
Although Barron is a bit inexperienced as a college president, I would imagine he had best have things ready considering how the BOT seems to feel about this thing.
But over at TN seems to think Spetman may be on the way out sooner than later. Wetherell ran Dave Hart off and hired him as he wanted a yes man. Barron could go with him if he doesn’t handle this right.
Fisher as you know gave a public impression that he was all in for the Big 12. You only get that kind of assurance from the BOT.
Apparently the BOT told FSU to push for an 8 team playoff. Full and well knowing it will never happen. This way they can cover their own butts and say we tried to keep the ACC relevant blah blah and then bolt. Sounding fairly good right now.
Swofford was just on College Football Live. I heard him myself, he stated that the ACC was ‘EXTREMELLY solid.” And “At least behind the doors, we are all a solid 5 conference front, we won’t be left out.” He also stated that the ACC just got an “EXCELLENT new TV deal, and has some great teams joining us in the next couple of years (Pitt and Syracuse).”
LOLOLOLOL, what a fool. He is being played behind closed doors and has NO idea. Here comes the BOOM.
It is kind of funny, it is like pines claiming ACC refs don’t cheat. That is about all Swofford can say. He is not going to say hey I am lawyering up as the TV rights deal Skipper and I made has hit the news. Pitt and Syracuse were our only options as we have known a long time FSU and Clemson would be leaving when they got wind of the money I funneled to my son, and we need to center around basketball.
The ACC needs to keep on expanding, I would suggest Cincy, Louisville, Rutgers and Uconn next.
“Divisional alignments have already begun to be discussed with a 12 team Big XII that includes both CU and FSU.
- $24 - $27 mil, per team, including the BigXII championship game, are the numbers being thrown around. This does not include the Champions Bowl.
- As the details of the ACC’s TV deals, including Raycom, are leaked… the ACC may not have much room for legal posturing. As a matter of fact, CU and FSU may have a case for damages (or no exit fee at the least).
- Why would the Big XII and SEC announce their “alignment” when they did? It’s all about timing. No ACC means stronger SEC and Big XII and more opportuntity for money.”
Rumor going around Clemson boards at the moment is supposdly Dabo and Brownell are going to be part of the Clemson BOT meeting coming up…...hmmm. Maybe to inform them of the move?? Weigh in on it? Not sure.
I don’t think any coaches will be telling a board of trustees what to do, as the college president works for the BOT and tries not to rile them.
Fisher has been in Barron’s ear but he had to have a nudge from the BOT to do that. Fisher is normally a pretty quiet coach but he understands the gravity of the situation.
Swofford is such a fool. He has proven he has no idea what he is doing in realignment. Because that is how you get to his position in life, by being a fool.
He is getting EXTREMELLY played by the real power players of the world: Clemtgrs and Seminole.
Tell me again the motivation of the refs to screw FSU? Can you post some more conspiracy theories please?
Is it not odd to you that 3 of the 4 ACC Commissioners attended/worked/coached/or played at a North Carolina school? Hmmmmmmmmmmm. There are a LOT of fools in top positions. A lot of geniuses lack common sense. And blind squirrels find nuts too.
If me and Sem were in charge, stuff would be already be done. Actions would be taken, and this would be very old news.
Think about that one…4 schools all founding members, 3 of which are some of the top schools in the nation with the 4th having a proud athletic tradition and started tobacco road. Seems to reason they put out top candidates, but no it is all a conspiracy to screw Clemson. Poor Clemson has just been abused by the ACC. Such a victim. They have no say in matters in the ACC, and are just dictated to. The ACC has done nothing for FSU either…
