“Had lunch with a former Professor who is now a full professor at ND and on the Athletics council. Said that the Irish would be making a move for full conference affiliation in the next 6 to 9 months. Told me that if Swofford doesn’t screw it up, ND prefers ACC for Academics, geographic fit, possible football dominance, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball. Sure hope Swofford gets credible help with this, since this could move us as a Conference back into a major player in all aformentioned sports.”
I am honestly sick of the rumors. I have a membership ti Rivals “Tiger Illustrated” and someone posted that WFNZ in Charlotte has reported talks between SEC/Clemson have quietly been ongoing for some time now.
I just want football season to begin. That’s all. Until further notice, Clemson is in the ACC. We are one of the top ACC Football programs and probably will remain that way for a while. I don’t like the 9 game schedule nor the potential of playing on Friday nights and hopefully that will be something that can get worked out.
If FSU leaves and Clemson stays, that would really suck, but they would get a Louisville of USF type schools to replace them with if Notre Dame comes on board and Clemson and VT would rule the ACC.
If we ever left the ACC, my first choice would be to the SEC because we are a natural fit. We have a deep history with UGa, So Carolina and the beginning of a good series with Auburn….That is where we should be.
The only thing I’m sick of is waiting to move and tarheel blue. I wish the season would begin too, I want to capture the last real ACC football title before it goes into oblivion.

As I side..I am sick of this whole stuff.
Ditto. I’m just along for the ride and tired of “rumors”. I wish September was here already.
CU_Tigers: I with you. This other stuff is bordering on complete non-sense. I am all for off-season chatter, but guys…let’s get to some sort of football talk and leave this conference realignment stuff to the decision makers who actually have some sort of idea how this will play out. For the record, I believe the ACC remains intact this year, the next…etc.
no i think the acc remains intact this year for sure. next year im giving it about 75% but year after that ive got it floating around 30%, that is unless the ACC goes undefeated in OOC play this year.
If anything, the ACC will be larger, not smaller in 3 years…and Clemson will be in it.
FSU I am not so sure about but I say better than even odds that FSU will be also.
I laugh every time I see some yahoo say “sources say it is a done deal.”
No wine needed for that prediction. But I do plan to have some tonight with a nice brie or stilton.

LOL, made me laugh. Did SoPines share his wine with you??
No, can’t say that he did. Just my opinion. I am not so wrapped up in this conference realignment business at this time. If it happens, okay so be it. Regarding all of your BIG XII banners that you are posting…I have said it before, it will be a hard pill to swallow if you guys do not go to the BIG XII after all of this nice artwork that you have continuously posted on various threads.
FSU and Clemson must declare they are leaving by August 15th in order to play in the Big 12 during the 2013 season. So you will get an announcement before then. Anyone who seriously researched this already knows both teams are leaving, so it is a done deal.
FSU cannot pass up the extra 17 million it would make in 2013 in the Big 12
