You might want to re-read this. This man is an FSU alumnus and subscriber to Scout and 24/7.

“1) Our public officials may not legally talk to the Big12 unless or until they announce they are thinking of leaving the ACC, at which time they must place 10 million greenback American dollars into an ACC controlled escrow account. Just to talk.

2) The Big12 may not officially invite FSU without committing Tortious Interference. Both schools must negotiate all this in private. Unofficially through backchannels. Legally the university President MUST make the comments he is making to avoid a long drawn out lawsuit from the ACC. Remember when two schools left the Big12 for the SEC they went through the same identical charade.

3) President Barron may, and likely does in fact, oppose this move out of a misguided belief it is not good for our academic standing. In the end IF the Board Of Trustees decides to finalise the move, they can make the decision and ignore Barron’s preference.

4) As to insider info: There are in fact dozens of highly-placed sources here close to the program leaking info like water through a sieve. Not just two or three in West Virginia and Baylor. The stuff GraniteNole has linked to here is the tip of a considerable iceberg.

Info is coming from numerous directions. Big donors, former players (not just Brooks) the people covering this program for Scout, Rivals, 24/7 networks. A number of folks on our Insider site here are big time donors to the program and on occasion talk directly to our AD, President, coaches, all in various capacities.

These are folks who’ve been posting on Insiders here for 10/12 years, proven time and again they have direct access to info others don’t have. Folks who knew coach Bowden was being essentially fired 4 months before it happened. There is some disagreement from a few but the general consensus among these people seems to be that the deal is done and has been in the pipeline for MONTHS. “

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

FSU and Clemson must declare they are leaving by August 15th in order to play in the Big 12 during the 2013 season. So you will get an announcement before then. Anyone who seriously researched this already knows both teams are leaving, so it is a done deal.

FSU cannot pass up the extra 17 million it would make in 2013 in the Big 12

I don’t think it will be anywhere near that kind of money in just one year….First, both schools will have to go through a period where they won’t be fully vested in the league.  I would guess about half of the revenue for 2-3 years…Secondly, the 20 million buyout is still something to deal with and at best they have to pay half…. Realistically I see a net loss for a few years.
