Most of the Georgia fans I have interacted with are okay with it. Dawg fans are happy with the current state of the program, although they will be quick to turn on him if Georgia has a tough season this fall.

It’s not really new….more like updated with higher, actually double the incentive bonus.

From what I understand a lot of the buyout information/wording was changed as well as what would happen $$ wise if he were to be terminated. I don’t expect either to happen for at least the duration of the contract so I’m all good with what they did.

Mark Richt is a throwback coach that doesn’t want to do anything but win at Georgia. He is already a very rich man and he also has some money from being a pretty good head football coach, which if by the grace of the creator we do win something he will get a brand new contract. He is my head coach and I support him.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you here…or the Dawg fans you’ve been around. While I am happy that we have sustained a fairly good level of completion for his 13 years….I’m not exactly happy with the current state of the program…I like where we are headed, again, again. We Dawg fans have had a pretty good run over Richt’s years. Sure there is a lot of woulda, coulda, shoulda, but who doesn’t have that? LSU? Oregon? FSU? Every UGA fan is different so I know there are the folks out there on either end of the extremes. I’m sure the Dawg fans 99 hangs out with, but hates so much, are a rowdy bunch and that’s prolly why he talks trash about them.

Me personally, I’m ready for a next step in the right direction. I think Richt can do it, he!l we’ve been so close a few times over his relatively short 12 years.  Grantham is doing great things as the DC (CTG also received an updated contract very similar to CMR’s) and if Richt will continue to stick his finger in the offense maybe we can take the step….if not then yeah the seat is going to get warm. I don’t think it will though. I expect him to be the coach at UGA as long as he wants the job.

He deserves it… If he actually acquires the incentive bonuses it will definitely be worth it… They have a really good team.

Remember when Richt was getting nailed by the NCAA by paying his coaches out of his own pocket? Honestly, hes probably one of the biggest class acts in college football today, Georgia is lucky to have a man of is quality there. I feel like this is a good move for both of them
