“Funny. FSU has one class that the entire student body cheats at when the tests doesn’t change and we are crucified as favoring athletes even though the entire student body can cheat.
Meanwhile the great academic UNC literally has classes only for “student-athletes” to take and we are a football cheat school in the eyes of arrogant UNC fans. Classic. I love it lol.”
I’m not one of those people that has anything against UNC, but I really think the NCAA is gonna break out the banhammer for this. The death penalty hasn’t been used in a long time but it’s not out of the question here. Either way it’s gonna get ugly.
It will be interesting to see how Swoffie acts on this one….. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving school.’
Hmm a “rogue” professor…...does he not have a boss? Someone has to allow it, someone has to give him marching orders, someone above him is not doing their job in monitoring their professors/classes/student athletes. Its deeper then just 1 “rouge” professor.
The whole school is a complete fake…we are all fakes…I cheated my way through college…hell they handed me the answers and you know what?
There still isn’t a ranking on the planet that has wherever you went anywhere close to Carolina…and to make it even better, all of the kids from instate North Carolina pay alot less than you probably did, making Carolina Kiplinger’s best college value since they began the rankings.
Nothing you can say or do will ever change that. Oh well. At least you have jealousy that makes you keep posting this. Keep hating. It suits you.

in my experience (i was a TA for 3 years) professors are basically given autonomy in their classes. and at a school like FSU where you are going to have research “professors” who never actually step foot in a class room having the same test used over and over isnt exactly a novel idea. I mean most professors use the same powerpoint slides every year…i remember i took one class during the summer where the guy was still using overhead lamenants that were dated 1990 (in 2008). The information was completly outdated and most of the theories presented had been proven false. Didnt matter, it was in the class it was on the test.
Also every person ive ever talked to whose gone to college in the past 10 years has had some sort of “freshman experience” class that serves no purpose but to bolster GPA and help you meat friends, im talking about 2-3 hour classes where you go play bingo at the local nursing home with your class mates.
I agree and in no way is this stuff something I am proud of or do I excuse. I was a Butch Davis supporter too as I wanted Carolina to have a top 10 football program and there is no doubt he could have built that but at what cost? It is obvious that he either cut corners or just ignored some bad stuff and the school figured it out and is rooting it out.
Universities are giant bureaucracies and slow to move, react or catch stuff. Carolina got burned and is paying the price. A hefty price at that. They will not allow the same stuff to go on again though and the school will be better for it.
The worst thing of it all to me is the embarrassment this has caused a proud university. It only gives fuel to the haters, but they are gonna hate either way so I guess I just have to keep hearing it from them.
I agree with SoPines.. UNC is a school with over 200 years of proud history. This was an embarrassing series of events that will stain the school for some time. One thing I think that fuels the ridicule is the fact that UNC has bared all the facts it can. The school has been forthright and honest in trying to correct the mistakes.
UNC is a special place to me. I can not stop folks from trying to sully the school further, but can only repeat the fine aspects the school posseses.
I respond to a jackass trying to bait and I am the bad guy? Not quite…
Anyway that is what all the rejects say “I never wanted to go there in the first place.” Nice spin.
Maybe if Carolina had blue cheese manufacturing you would have been more interested.
You can’t act as if you are above the fray & get mixed up in it @ the same time. Doesn’t work that way. Besides, talk of academic superiority in a sports message board is about as weak as it gets. It’s about as effective as the “I’m rubber & you’re glue”, or “yeah, well, my dad can beat up your dad” defense.
No, talk of academic reality in response to someone trying to take a shot directly at you out of the blue on the subject of academic integrity is not weak. It is called telling the truth.
FSU students, faculty and athletes have all become rocket scientists since our association with the the ACC. How could anyone begrudge us taking all this to the Big 12 where we can now raise them up to the intellectual heights? Where are your Christian values son?
For the record, I did want to go to UNC. I did go to UNC. I’m proud of my UNC degree. It’s opened many professional doors for me, and helped me to provide a great life for my family.
And that’s great and I respect that, just like I chose to get my college degree elsewhere….wasn’t even Clemson. However I might go back for a second one there. But what I am saying is UNC is not the end all be all like SoPines often makes it come across as.
Don’t konw how I missed this one, but that is hilarious. BTW, where did you get your degree from?
Sopines I have studied your intellectual proclivities carefully. If we continue this debate I am afraid we may see hordes of people leaving North Carolina and heading for Tallahassee.

What about “my football team’s smarter than yours?” Do those academics qualify for a sports board? Is this a paradox?
