I agree but we don’t claim to be football schools. Miami was the dominant program when they joined and they fell off the map. I voted for them.

Maybe that’s part of the problem.  Basketball schools free loading and criticizing rather then helping the cause???  Claim the conference all day but when the heat comes they pass the blame.

I know…us freeloading basketball schools that ride your coat tails yet at the same time seem to be in control of everything and working to keep Clemson down. Freeloaders yet powerbrokers making you want to head to Lubbock. Makes sense.

I don’t think NC State claims to be anything.  I guess we are a bass fishing school.  Even though the last couple of years have been pretty decent, we need to do better and I think we will.  As I said earlier, we are as much to blame as anyone.

I think it’s commendable that you are manning up, but I believe there are alot of others ahead of NCSU in fault category.

This is the most comical thread I’ve ever read on this site.  VT first? Christ Almighty. We’ve stumbled way too often on the big stage, no doubt about it.  Fans in Blacksburg are just as pissed about it and tired of the trend as anyone else.  However, blaming the program that’s carried the banner for this sorry ass conference for 8 years is ridiculous.  When we joined the league most of you said we’d never even contend for an ACC Title.  In order to fail in the big game you actually have to win a bunch to get there.  Instead of admitting that your respective programs have been miserable, you project this crap on to the Hokies? 

Who cares whose fault it is?  Miami has been an abject failure.  Florida State has been living off of past glories and recruiting rankings.  Clemson has no excuse for being historically underwhelming and overrated with all the talent it brings in.  UNC was good briefly under Mack Brown and then they couldn’t even figure out how to cheat correctly.  Hell, UVA is the flagship school in a state loaded with talent and they flat out suck year after year. 

I know it’s sports and these discussions always come up, but to BLAME the winningest program in the country since 1995 is plain stupid.  The ACC is 2-13 all-time in BCS games.  VT won one of those, and was the losing team in the other (FSU; 2000 MNC Game in case you forgot).  You can even point to some of VT’s weaker schedules to account for why they’ve owned the conference (even though they’ve shown a willingness to play—and lose—to the Alabamas, LSUs, and USCs of the world that only a handful of other programs will do), but don’t forget that your team was probably on those schedules every single year.

UNC tried once… he died of a tick bite. Had a good one in the 70’s. Mack Brown did what he wanted, and more power to him. Butch Davis was kind of show with no results, and lots of trouble to boot. I like Fedora’s excitement, and hope to be able to return here and say UNC is a real good football team and program. We’ll see.

Ok, these results are funny as hell, it does not fit my agenda at all.

No need to get your nose out of joint.  VT,Clemson,Miami and FSU all have some “splannin” to do….that is what this is about.  Getting upset over who is sucking the most usually is not a conversation I want to be a part of

What is too explain we had 10 years of Bowden comedy and I have seen people right here defend that also with the BB can do whatever he wants to do. Then there was Miami’s run of numerous comedy.

Even with that however it is a basketball conference and should be left to basketball schools. Another problem is Clemson and FSU tried to get rid of Swofford long ago. All we got was Cherry, gains over 30 yards called back, Thursday night games in Boston during sleet storms and Clemson got the same with extra probation. It seems to me schools in the ACC don’t have sense enough to replace a crooked idiot like Swofford who is running the show. So much for academics.
