From Mike farrell at rivals…both young men are amazing talents…pretty bold statements from farrell though…I do think Clowney is a total freak of nature…

This seems fairly similar to my analysis of the two. Clowney was the better pass rusher as a high school prospect, but Nkemdiche plays te run better. In the end, we won’t know which layer is better until at least another three year. All I know is that both players are special talents and I look forward to watching them in the future.

My god this is getting ridiculous.  Certain fans are so jealous that he chose Clemson over “the SEC”.  Big media is shocked apparently.  All I read in that article is “Nkemdiche is great BUT…”  If he is good/great there is no buts, why do we need a comparison?  He’s comparing them at the same stage right?  Well why does he keep mentioning Clowney in present tense???  “Clowney HAS a better pass rush”, “Clowney runs like a wide reciever”.  Ok guy, this article is stupid.

Clowney is a freak, he’s a dang good player and have no qualms about him and I wouldn’t question saying he is one of if not the best DE in the nation.  Just saying the writer is stupid for this comparison.

None of this diminishes the effect of Nkemdiche’s commitment to Clemson, nor does it put a damper on his ability or upside. Dabo Swinney and company are recruiting at a ridiculous level and landing the nation’s No. 1 player from out of state—a prospect many felt would end up at Alabama or LSU—will bring dividends this year and down the line.

YEAH OK, I’m sure you were not trying to bash Clemson/Nkemdiche for this AT ALL.  I just wrote a whole article on how you really aren’t the best at what you do, but hey….no offense.  Especially since he was an LSU/Alabama lock…..yeah…..I believe you.  Rolling eyes.

Talking heads have to say something even it is wrong. Clemson got a good one.

I wouldn’t put Werner out of this discussion either, first round pick. Jenkins top 40

I know we disagree alot on the ACC, but I agree completely with this.
Huge get by Clemson, and sounds like recruiting “experts” don’t like to be wrong so they try to cover it.

College football live is talking about all the SEC teams will be knocking on his door, implying he will de-commit I guess.

“Nkemdiche commits to the Tigers despite being recruited by all the SEC teams.” LOL, good for little ole poor Clemson landing a 5 star. First in program history right?

Yeah it proves that so much of this is perception. Hopefully some of that perception can change here in the next few years.

I seriously doubt the he will de-commit.  Dabo usually doesn’t lose them.  Sure it could happen, but I think it would take something pretty significant happening to Clemson football or the coaching staff for that to occur.

So Clemson and FSU are landing big time recruits in the heart of SEC country… who has won the last 6 national championships??... When will all the other ACC schools make a concerted effort to compete in the southeast US?? Is it just because there is a lack of SEC competition in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, or the northeast ??

Virginia Tech has had good teams but they’ve proven that they either can’t or won’t try to recruit the talent required to win a national championship.

North Carolina has the spending power to invest in their football (recruiting) but they’re happy with making the NCAA basketball tournament every year. I bet if NC State joined the SEC it would light a fire under UNC’s butt.

Nobody else takes football serious.

This is the underlying problem that plagues the ACC… How can anybody else take ACC football serious if the ACC doesn’t even take themselves serious.

It is really frustrating that nobody understands what it is really like to live in the southeast when the SEC is dominating football year after year after year.

I don’t think he will either… But we really never know what is swirling around in these kids heads… Last year, FSU landed the #1 prospect in the nation early on in the process, but the rumors continued to fly about Texas, LSU, etc… It happens every year.

Not to mention we landed the top QB and DT in the country and rumors continued to fly from Alabama… which was a bunch of BS the whole time… Most rumors are wishful thinking from diehard fans who think they should get every player that’s worth a damn.

Clowney is top 5 D-lineman easily… I gotta see what he does as a sophomore.

People overlook B-Jorn Werner because he’s white… but that dude is strong as an ox… and he will make you look like a rabbit bouncing around in the pocket.

I really doubt that he will decommit. I interviewed Roy Philpott from CUTigers.com the other day, and he said that he was 100 percent certain that Nkemdiche will end up at Clemson.

From my experiences with Nkemdiche alone, I can tell you that he is not a prospect that enjoys the attention that comes with recruiting. I think he is happy to get his decision out of the way, and I would be surprised if he gave any serious thought to decommitting.

Apples to oranges. Comparing a guy who hasn’t played his senior year in high school to a once in a generation DE. There’s a lot of time before signing day and a lot can happen. Also is dabo going to pull his offer if he makes other visits?

I don’t see him going anywhere. He made a lot of trips and was careful in his decision based on what I’ve heard. He was also very certain about his choice. As far as the Clowney comparison, it’s a stupid one. There is no way to compare at this point and there are plenty of outstanding players that are not Clowney.

Where do you get this idea? Did you see the recent facilities ranking for the ACC on ESPN? Carolina and State were #4 and #1 respectively around Clemson and FSU. Carolina is not on probation because nobody cared about football. If anything they sped while trying to get good quickly and got caught. We aren’t paying one football coach to not coach and just hired one of the top names for hire this year because we don’t care about football. Recruiting is going very well for Carolina right now also as Fedora is trying to recruit guys to his system.

Plus, UVA and VT have the tidewater area plus DC to recruit from in the own backyard. They don’t need to go to Florida or Georgia to get talent. I see where you are coming from but I don’t buy the idea that no other schools care about football.
