I wasn’t knocking Clemson, I will be honest, if for some reason Fisher left I wouldn’t mind Holgorsen coming to FSU at all.

As for Dabo he can recruit but ask yourselves where would you be if Chad Morris were lured away as a head coach somewhere? You would be in a world of hurt if Dabo could not entice another OC of his caliber.

If I were faced with Morris leaving, I would fire Dabo and hire him as head coach. That is how good I think they guy is.

By the way Clem have you heard anything lately? The word I got was now the                 dude says Clemson had gotten cold feet on the big 12 but this weekend decided they were all in again!

The admins might have sat down and thought wait, do we want to be in the ACC if FSU goes and VT is looking hard at the SEC? There is only one logical choice and that is too get out of this chicken league with FSU while the getting is good.

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

I also think Dabo gets to much recruiting credit.  Sure, he’s the face, he might close the deal….but its the position coaches that get the real job done.  Jeff Scott is TERRIBLY overlooked and is one HECK of a recruiter.  We need to hang onto him as long as possible.

Sem, I’ve heard rumblings yes.  I also heard there was going to be a period of misinformation so I haven’t really been that concerned.  I’ll be concerned August 16th if the deal isn’t etched in stone.  With ND practically taking the Big 12 to 3rd base on the first date for Olympic sports things should start picking up speed.  Hold on tight, something is about to change….its all downhill from here (as in picking up speed, and also the ACC racing out of control like a run away child’s soapbox derby car.)

I’ve been told that both the Big 12 and FSU/Clemson can smile….THIS weekend.  We’ll wait and see…is the name CUB12 reserved yet??

99% of a head coach’s job is recruiting and motivating his players. Whether you like Swinney or not, his players seem to rally behind him. It is very similar to Les Miles at LSU. Many people are quick to point the finger at him because he is unorthodox and sometimes makes questionable calls, but his players believe in what he tells them and they would run through a wall for him. In the end, winning games is the mark of a good coach and Swinney has the Tigers headed in the right direction.

SEC speed = speed on defense. The Pac Ten has fast receivers and running backs. What makes the SEC different is linemen and defense.

You sir, are correct. Defensive size and speed is the difference in the SEC. Especially at positions like defensive tackle and safety.

Watkins isn’t even the fastest football player in the state. That honor goes to Damiere Byrd of South Carolina. Watkins did make honorable mention though.

im sorry, but this list has belemy faster than watkins,
im no expert, but that seems bogus to me, and it only shows watkins 100 and 200 meter. Its not exactly apples to oranges, but its comparing a macintosh to a fuji

Jerry Rice wasn’t the fastest guy on the field either… But he is the best receiver to play the game. (not saying Sammy Watkins is on the same level as Jerry Rice… that’s just blasphemy)

Speed can only take you so far… especially with the abundance of speed on all of the “elite” teams’ rosters.

But the SEC continually wins championships because their best players are on defense, and mainly the quality of depth in the front 7… Clemson has a little ways to go to build that depth but he’s certainly on his way.

We’ve seen great All-Conference/All-America D-linemen come through Clemson (DaQuan Bowers comes to mind.)... but when you’re the only guy out there making plays, after 60 minutes you’re running on fumes.

FSU had the best defense in the ACC last year, but none were selected to first team all-conference because there were multiple guys putting up the numbers.
