A guy can make just so many gas pumper and 5th place ring jokes (among countless other opportunities for ridicule) before shooting chickens in a barrel loses it’s appeal.  I felt like a bully picking on retarded kids. Even if they were loathesome and mean, they can’t help it.  The complex runs deep and is practically incurable.  So sad.

Well…The biggest piece of advice I like to give to the guys that are coming over from ESPN is that there is a huge difference between UNC fans and USC fans….The UNC fans actually understand it when you bust their chops over something where the typical UCS fan just has it going over their heads…so remember that and you will do fine.

NCSU is like that on their board, they are still talking about rebuilding the ACC. It is hard to reach someone in a burning building that doesn’t know it is time to leave.

I will take that as a compliment from CU…I guess.

Here is the Dude from WVU…good interview and I will give him credit. Sounds as reasonable as someone can be named Honus “The Dude” Snead. It is obvious though he is making stuff up. He has no backing for any of the stuff he claims. Listen to the end…60 million dollar payment up front? Give me a break.

WVU feels spurned and this guy is making this stuff up driving the news. I give him credit for getting legitimate media to bite.The fact that he has gotten Sem and Clem to buy in hook line and sinker is almost hilarous though. Glad some Clemson and FSU fans don’t fit into the PT Barnum quote “There is a sucker born every minute”

No pines Clem and I have not lost all connections to reality is the bottom line. We are able to absorb information and correlate probabilities using such, something it doesn’t seem like they teach at UNC.

Not saying you aren’t smart guys, but to believe everything said by this “Dude” is silly. How does some guy in WV have access to information about the Big 12 TV deal that hasn’t been released. Does that not seem strange to you?

Apparently most ADs don’t even get to know the details of the money in their own deals and that money fluctuates year to year but somehow Honus Snead has sources that tell him this that and the other. Makes sense…

I will say this though, his genius is that he has tapped into the desire of FSU and Clemson fans who feel like they have to keep up with the Joneses in their state. It has made him a college football blog celebrity no doubt so I congratulate him there.

Must we keep leading you by the hand? This man knows people at WVU, they are not in the big 12 as yet, they can discuss things with FSU and act as a go between with FSU and the Big. They not only can but they are. Comprende?

Now that we definitely know that the BCS is dead after 2013 and we have a 4 team playoff, it will be interesting to see how things play out.

If 1 or 2 SEC teams is going to be in this playoff pretty much every year, that could easily equate to an extra 8-10 million dollars per school and in this competitive world of recruiting against schools like USC, UGa, Florida,Etc then FSU and Clemson are going to have to look at things for 2014 and beyond in this new arms race that has just arisen…..

The amount of new cash that will thrown at this I am hearing is in the 400-500 million range and that is a game changer.

I may hay to amend my comment a little bit.  I still say Clemson and FSU’s best shot at a title run is to be able to stay in the ACC for the next 2 years and then maybe move to another league when the new playoff format begins, but the situation is such that they may simply have no choice due to the long term choices that may have to be made…..

I think Clemson should be talking to Slive first about the SEC before the B12 if a move is in order…...Again, make certain that option is decided one way or another

If the SEC was open to FSU and Clemson, sure by all means but I don’t think it will be.  All I’m saying is you can’t afford to pass up something right in front of you just on sheer hope later on, because there is always someone right behind you willing to take the spot.

So what is right in front of you exactly?

I’m just saying, if an opportunity were to present itself…..or if an opportunity affords the ability to show interest in it…..you can’t pass it up.

The SEC wants to finish FSU and Clemson as competitive schools in the Southeast. Best forget they want to save you. 

For the immediate future it looks like the Big 12 is looking at either FSU and Clemson going to 12 and a partial or FSU with Notre Dame as a partial and further expansion put off until later. I don’t think they would stay at 12 but they might, who knows.

The difference in funding might not be readily apparent to some until one day Fisher takes a SEC job or perhaps Chad Morris as other schools pay more in salary, coaches don’t have the money to keep top assistants, renovations are put off due to lack of funds, their schools are shunted out of playoff contention and they go elsewhere.

Not to mention, Univ of Florida makes approx 36million more then FSU, and USCjr makes approx 22.5 million more then Clemson in revenue…....cough.
