Not sure what the surprise is suppose to be.

Georgia is one of the surprises. Not many people would guess they have been just 5-15 against top 25 competition the past 5 years. No wonder Richt stays on the hot seat.

Oh, well I live in Ga so I know all about how great they are. I definitely keep up with their shortcomings. So I’m still going with, not sure what the surprises are.

Yeah we have not had much luck with the top 25 over the past few years. There have been, for the most part, some really close games that we didn’t win. There have also been a couple not so close games too. We do seem to beat an OOC team from about 70 miles up the road pretty regularly though.

LSU and Bama and a couple others do have the appearance that they seek out other top rated competition, but for UGA to say “look at us we beat all our SEC competition and we beat all our OOC competition” but their conference schedule is only the bottom half of the conference, and they dont play anybody OOC. It just seems like a joke to me.

I’m not making any excuses here, we didn’t win the games, but it’s not like we were playing scrub teams in those losses in or out of conference. Over the past 5 years we have traveled to Tempe, AZ, Stillwater, OK, Boulder, CO and played the world beaters Boise State. So to say that UGA hasn’t been going out of their way to play tougher OOC competition is not accurate. Also, I’m not real sure any UGA fans have been jumping up and down saying look at us either. The last few seasons have been quite humbling. Look the conference schedule was somewhat favorable last season and appears to be this coming season as well…but it’s not like we haven’t played Bamer, LSU, or Arky in the past 5 years, not to mention that we play Auburn every year.

Where would you be if you were in the west division ?
What if there is a change to north and south divisions ?
25-36-4 v. the Crimson Tide . Dooley looks better all the time.
52-54-8 v. Barnies           If Pat Dye had stayed… much worse.
9-  4     v. Arkansas
12-15-1   v. LSU           Play them every year !
47-40-2   v. Fla
17-21-2   v. Tenn           Should have kept Fulmer !
6 -  4-1   v. FSU           You need to schedule more ACC teams
At least there is Tech .

all and all, id argue that UGA’s conference schedule is the same if not less difficult than Clemson, FSU, or VT. and clemson plays the toughest 2 opponents on your schedule (auburn and usc)

and i know yall dont make your conference schedule but i was just using UGA as an example. Id say yall are easily in the top half of the SEC, but yall have lucked out the past couple years.

And looking at your OOC schedule, i dont see any marquee games, except the gt rivalry. many would argue that FSU and VT are stiffer competition than Auburn and USC, and they are in the ACC.

Im just sick of the whole “we play an SEC schedule so we dont need to have quality OOC opponents” garbage

I am confused again !
Marquee game is a team you are 61-37-5 against ?
Someone you have beaten 10 of the last eleven times ( I think ).
Clemson ? Did you see the West Virginia game ?
VT ? 1-28 v. top 5 teams ?
Another website said the recruits thought Saban was the most intiminating
coach. Lucky they don’t have Stallings and Bryant after them.

Stay calm, were not talking about records, or history, were talking about SoS.
Id say UGA’s toughest OOC game this year is vs GT
The WVU game is a non-issue, were talking about SoS
VT’s record against top 5 doesnt matter, were talking about SoS

What does saban have to do with anything?

You mentioned the last 5 years and that is history.
Strength of schedule. 1-28 against top 5 teams with “TEN WINS PER SEASON” against no one isnt SOS.

no i didnt, except to say i was suprised at Floridas rating over the past 5 seasons, but that has nothing to do with the topic of conversation today, which has been comparing Georgia’s SoS next year to the ACC

1-28 against top 5 teams with “TEN WINS PER SEASON” against no one isnt SOS.

Thats not really fair, id be willing to say the vast majority of teams have a loosing record against top 5 opponents, and if they do, chances are they are in the top 5.

Not to mention SoS isnt determined by the W/L versus ranked opponents, its determined by the W/L record of their opponents, so 29 games vs top 5 teams actualy does contribute to SoS
