Penn State too damaged for the ACC to take?

Assuming PSU was on the market, would you want to take them after all of this?

I would not now. While they continue getting dragged through the mud and now it seems like the NCAA is going to hit them, I think it would be best to leave them alone. Besides the ACC now has a presence in Pennsylvania with arguably a richer football history.

Between that and the grant of rights which would cost them about a billion dollars. Maybe the ACC could get the giants though.

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

What?

I think Penn St is in real trouble as this comes out about the coverup…BUT, if they ever wanted a fresh start I think the ACC would be crazy not to invite them.

I think you would have a hard argument to make that Pitt has a richer football tradition than Penn St outside of this scandal.

Damaged goods, I’m personally not a fan and would not want Penn State.  I’d rather have a team like Louisville before PSU.  PSU’s better days are behind her.  unfortunately, no longer is that where Joe Pa coached, but where Jerry Sandusky coached and abused kids.  No longer is that where they had a single coach for 45 years, its where a new coach is dealing with a massive blow to the school in the abuse case and now coverup.  Its not the same Penn State, and it will never be the old Penn State again unfortunately.  So no, for me personally I would not want them here

Here is the original interview.

My favorite line: What about the rumors of the Irish to the Big 12?

“They have absolutely nothing in common with any of those Big 12 schools,” Corrigan said

Matt Hayes and Dennis Dodd and other “reporters” should be embarrased about their level of conjecture.

I think The ACC would be NUTS to turn down Penn State in this hypothetical argument….99.89% of the PSU people had no knowledge of the scandal.  This was a very select few bad apples and they are all gone…..

Actually, I think PSU would be a great “Fresh Start” for Penn State to go to the ACC assuming that as Dabo would put it they “did all of the right things” to correct the problem.  Scandals go away….

I hate reading in the article that Corrigan wanted to get them back in the 80s and 90s but the presidents wouldn’t let him.

Also saw in another link where Penn State actually got REJECTED by the Big East before they played football. Amazing.

The big 10 has a GOR. Penn State would have to give the big 10 all TV money for years if they left. Nobody could afford that. It is a little strange to debate something that is impossibly unless the big 10 out and out kicked them out of the conference which is not going to happen.

It was a hypothetical scenario.

Not flaming, just asking. Is that actually true? If so is there a source? I am willing to believe it and it makes sense I would just like to know.

So, who wants Penn State now?  Total coverup, Joe Pa included..no thanks.  Give them the death penalty.

The school should be punished but it is still a major university and football program, which will not get the death penalty I suspect, with a ton of fans. It is also a good school. I would still want them yes.

You telling me you would be excited to have Penn State come to Clemson?

Nope, wouldn’t be excited in the least.  Someone like UGA, LSU, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Michigan, Wisconsin excite me…...not Penn State, not ND.

Death Penalty , FOREVER !!!
To the ACC , probably not now. Maryland is relieved.
Penn State 35-1-1 against Maryland.
Lehigh, Temple , Rutgers , et al , can find another team to lose to.
