LOL what other “major” conferences?? ND….what if they don’t even reach say 10 wins? Boise State, I think you’ll find they will suffer a pretty significant fall this year and years past that. Who else is out there?

So we get a consolation prize and whoever is left, nice. Moral victories…..the best kind. Sure we’ll play a lesser opponent (not one of the top), because that’s what we do….settle. We settle just outside of the door to greatness because its easy.

Conference champs are not always the best choices for bowl games. Upsets can happen, it’s very possible that the best regular season team in the conference get’s upset in their championship game and the ACC may get to play them while the Rose bowl get’s stuck with a team barely in the top 25. Bottom line is that the ACC will get some good matchups.
I’d say we should start winning before we complain about anything else.
When was the last time the ACC really put on a dominating performance vs. someone who mattered during a “prime time” game ???
I went through an act of congress, begging bartenders to air the last two BCS games here (in China) at their bars (live) in the morning…
What happened? Well, VT outplayed Michigan but had a questionable Danny Coale TD called back—- and an even more questionable fake punt call when our defense was playing lights out. A few days later I went back to the same bar just to see Clemson get absolutely dominated. The owner of the bar was British, but he was understanding enough to let me and a few buddies in at about 7am…
Sure, money is important. We can talk about bowls and TV contracts all day. But really, look at what Boise St. did with their budget. They might be rebuilding this year, but I honestly think any team would be afraid to play them in the previous two years. (Considering risks/rewards) Regardless, look at what their coach can do without SEC type money.
I don’t get some of you guys…..The ACC was thrown a major life-line at being INCLUDED in the new playoff era as an AQ conference. With the Orange Bowl returning to New Years Day with a 1 PM Kickoff, we (ACC Fans/Schools) get the opening game on the greatest day for college sports and some of you are crying about Miami?......Really? Has it occurred to some of you that we could have been left out completely or relegated to an “At Large” status?
The Orange Bowl will now go back to being the finale to a Christmas trip/Bowl Trip that will be great for the fans to have the time to make the drive.
How are some of you going to feel in the years that Miami gets the playoff rounds that doesn’t have an ACC school and you have to drive to New Orelans,Tempe, Los Angles…none of these other Bowls are any closer….
When I went to the Gator Bowl a few years ago when Clemson played Nebraska, I was incredibly impressed how those very good fans drove over half way across the nation to watch there team play in just the Gator Bowl against a decent..not great Clemson team…....And some of you are bitching because you don’t want to drive to Miami?
My only problem with following my beloved Tigers to Bowl is the date of the Game…...The Orange bowl last year just didn’t work because it was in the middle of the week after New Years and I couldn’t get the time off…..The Orange Bowl Now ought to be pretty freaking great when the new format kicks in…
The ACC could sign a deal with the NFL to play the superbowl champ in primetime and you two would complain about it. Glad to know you were raised right…
Who said the ACC had dropped its deal with the Peach Bowl? I have not heard that. This is in addition to that deal as far as I can tell.
Also Raycom broadcasts are in HD in Big Carolina. I recognize that they may not have HD TV down in Columbia however. Especially since you are still using a VCR…
Once again the ACC has made lemonade out of the lemons that FSU, CLEMSON, and VT have laid as the self proclaimed football schools who get beat on national stages every time they play and all you can do is complain. Start winning and maybe things will change.
You need rabbit ears and an analog signal to pick up Raycom broadcasts. Raycom HD is a myth, compare their “HD” to any of the other major HD players and you will see…..or maybe you won’t because you have a love affair with them.
At least you admit UNC isn’t a player at all for the ACC in football. Haven’t done jack crap, never will. Things never change. Even if we win, its not going to change much. It will be against crappy teams in the ACC. And then we have to give all of those crappy teams a piece of our pie that we just baked, BS.
How mature of you. First you insult our parents above saying we weren’t raised right (to your standards I’m sure right? God, I would hate to be your kids.) and then you take your ball and go home. Classy! No I did not go to Clemson. I think I represent my choice school just fine thank you. I’d rather not lay down and just float along the river like everyone else does. UNC runs this conference and you seem to think they should run this board. You are an arrogant pompous ass, multiple people have told you before and I’ll tell you again. Go back to your sweater vest and wine and cheese crowd. I’m sure they are delighted to have you and your elitist attitude.
How am I a wannabe? Just because I choose to represent a school I didn’t attend, yet everyone in my family did? And never ONCE have I ever claimed that I attend(ed) Clemson. I still pay money to Clemson every year, and I hold season tickets. Does that make me less of a fan or something? Again, arrogant pompous elitist ass.
Richland Tech? Never heard of it, you’re from South Carolina? Couldn’t tell. You mean Midlands Tech? Why yes, actually I do hold a degree from there, I’m proud of it and I’ve paired that with my 6 years of Military service to land a good job. I guess I just just can’t even hold a candle to your high and mighty UNC degree huh?
I tried to post on this from my phone, but it must not have worked out… oh well… What part of Game to highest bid, and ACC getting half of the proceeds is a bad deal. Before you sprout Hakuna Matada crap and call out my holier than thou existence think about the words. There is no Raycom angle to this. There is no secondary bowl to this. The Orange Bowl is existing, either the Sugar or Cotton Bowl are going away. The Orange Bowl is guaranteed in the semi rotation. The Peach Bowl is not. These are items being reported by folks who claim to be legitimate reporters… not one paid by fan sites. I know it may be hard to swallow, but FSU and Clemson are in the ACC and the ACC is tied into the Orange Bowl. Maybe one of your schools can make the game and not get skull dragged. Before Sem comes back with the Bowl record… congrats.. FSU last appearance was a 3 OT loss vs. Penn St. Perhaps the ACC will field teams deserving of a bid to a bowl with such a rich tradition dating back to the 30’s. I will not slam the bowl game. It is a tropyhy ANY coach would love to have in the case, I’m sure.
