UNC98/SoPines…I am with you guys here. UNC98, your post mirrors my thoughts on all of this…all of this blogging B.S. (FSU/Clemson are really jumping ship this time!). I am responding to you guys to say, I am in your corner. This entire escapade of posting (by some of our site-mates) “cute” little posters of Swofford, the ACC… the Big XII, it’s just gotten out of hand on this site and I am almost ready to check out and go elsewhere (I am sure that I am welcome to do so).
Bottom line, I like the rationale that you guys bring to the table. Right or wrong, you guys present your case with class unless your pushed. Stick to your guns. There will be a couple (2-3 likely) of posters that will be eating some major crow soon and I do not think that it will be either of you.
Thanks bro…I appreciate the support and before anyone gets the wrong idea that I hate Clemson or FSU or some crap like that I will say that I like ALL the schools of the ACC. I am an SC native, have a brother that went to FSU and would probably have gone to Clemson or The Citadel if not Carolina. I am glad VT is in the conference and I think Pitt and Cuse will blend in over time.
At the same time I am not just all about the conference. I am pro UNC above all else. I dont get the SEC…SEC…SEC chants where loser schools claim superiority because they are in an association with better schools that win more. I do like the collegiality that SEC schools seem to have though despite nothing in common between a South Carolina and a Texas A&M. I contend the ACC has the same thing among admins but has alot of idiot fans who can’t stand that their schools dont win like they should and are jealous of their rivals. The media contributes to this. That is why I call them out.
The thing I do like about the ACC though is that ALL the ACC schools are pretty good at something both in sports and academically. NO OTHER CONFERENCE CAN SAY THAT. The geography makes sense and the schools are by in large like minded. I love the fact that the ACC is 9 contiguous states up and down the largest population corridor in the country. Win some big games and the ACC is strategically positioned to be a top athletic and academic association.
I get that I may come off as a bit arrogant when dealing with a certain someone on here but sometimes some people need to be put in their place when they keep baiting me and telling me that my school and conference suck. Any grad of a school with a long and proud tradition like Clemson should be insulted that a NON-GRADUATE community college jackass should be putting Clemson down for its choices, and trying to speak in the name of Clemson when it is clear the path that the coaching staff and admin have chosen is to stay in the ACC. If other Clemson fans on here are insulted by me then I am sorry. I mean nothing to Clemson as a school or football team.
I hope all of the non-football news of this summer goes along way to making the ACC and all of college football better as a result.
