Maybe it will maybe it won’t, the fact is though you put 3 ACC teams in there. That’s nuts IMO. I can see 1 maybe with 2012 schedules. And the best shot at the playoffs is Clemson simply based on schedule alone. In a new playoff format, especially with a selection committee USF really won’t help that much despite their record. The Big East is fading into oblivion, the committee will see that and will make decisions accordingly. A current Big East team with Murray State and Savannah State and then Florida really isn’t all that impressive. Though I might give them a nod over VT’s schedule since they play Florida. I’d give the nod to a Auburn, South Carolina, Furman, and Ball State schedule before all of them however. VT has Austin Peay, Bowling Green, Pitt, Cincinnati….not all that impressive either.
Where is West Virginia in all of this? They are not only playing a better schedule this year but they are loaded with talent. You’d really skip them to put 3 ACC teams in? I’d put WVU above Clemson, and thats not just because of the Orange Bowl debacle. They have 5 teams on the schedule this year that finished in the top 25 last year, and one that just missed. West Virginia is my dark horse for 2012. Would be nuts to not include them in favor of an ACC team.
