My nominee from Clemson for OLine is Dalton Freeman.  Not familiar with other teams or anything, just tossing out a name that have been good for us.  He is our rock on Oline.

First, what are you looking at to put these guys here?  Stats?.....I think not.  Gotta fight for my Clemson boys.

Really?  No DeAndre Hopkins at WR?  Had more Yards then everyone else on the list other then Conner Vernon (and Sammy).  Has more receptions then everyone but those two, and was fairly even on TDs.  He’d be on my list first or second….he’d be on one.

No Andre Ellington?  Orwin Smith above Andre?

Mike Glennon above Boyd?  I’d reverse the two.

Matt: as a die-hard Clemson fan, I can tell you Dalton Freeman is not a first team ACC center. He is solid but far from exceptional; MAYBE 2nd team at best. Our OL could make life tough on all the offensive stars we have. Gonna be interesting for sure.

We have two pretty good Safeties that might get in the mix if they can not get burned deep every game.

If I was making a 3rd team I would have Andre Ellington on it.

You may notice that I’m making the teams look like how you would see them on the field.

Question, would you put James Hurst ahead of Malcolm Bunche? I remember Bunche beating out Seantrel Henderson last seasnon, that made an impression on me.

I can’t remember the names, but GT and Duke’s centers seem to stand out to me, particulary GT’s because of the dependency on the run and dive play.

No doubt about James Hurst. He is a likely first or second-round pick when he comes out of school.

Duke’s center is Brian Moore. He broke his arm early in the year last year and missed almost the entire season. He is a solid lineman, but not better than Dalton Freeman. Georgia Tech’s center is Jay Finch. He played pretty well last year, but has the potentital to get a lot better.

In my opinion, the second best center in the ACC would probably be Camden Wentz at NC State.

I know we probably wont ever see this day, but it would be cool if there was a pre-season scrimmage between the all conference teams

Werner is a very, very good player. He gets overshadowed some because of the other stars on defense. As for QB, I think Boyd has to be first team.

Vellano should definitely be on one of your teams.  I think he’d be my 1st team.  Werner would be a solid 2nd team choice.  Greg Reid is a 1st or 2nd team football player with all the things that he does

There is no doubt that Vellano belongs on the first team. He is an absolute beast!

I watched the replay of the Clemson vs Md game from last year.  Vellano tackled Sammy Watkins 10-15 yards downfield on a WR screen.  No DT should be able to do that!

To Vellano’s credit, he does not tire easily. He plays almost every snap.

Phil Steele All ACC: http://philsteele.com/Pdf/2012PreseasonHonors/All-ACC.pdf

Some of his picks are head scratchers. I nearly forgot about Chris Pantale, definitely belongs on my list.
