There is probably only one team in the land who can deal with bama at present and that would be the great Florida State Seminoles and their stone wall defense.

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

First things first. That’s a really good profile on Alabama. Really well done.

Sem, FSU woudn’t score on Alabama. No chance. Zero chance.

They won’t run the table again, but I sure don’t envy any of the teams in the SEC West.

Agreed, will be a great team but won’t run the table.  IMO.

4 names, USC (real), LSU, UGA, and WVU.

USC (real one) or LSU will be the ones running the show.  UGA has a real nice shot though, their schedule is set up for them to glide to glory, they don’t play LSU, Alabama, or Arkansas.  My dark horse is West Virginia, I think they will surprise a lot of people this year and that Big 12 schedule is going to boost them up where the Big Least couldn’t.

So, what do you guys expect out of the defending national champs this season?

excellent preview, look forward to hearing more!

I believe Alabama will be 2-10 on the season. Big let down and Saban is fired at seasons end. (*please note: I do not really believe this, but did graduate from Auburn)

In seriousness, I do look for a young defense to not be as dominate as people have seen the past two season from Bama…but it will still be very strong, as usual.

The real questions are on offense…at receiver…do they have more than 1? 2? solid wide outs? Who will A.J. throw to? Just how far will the run game drop off with no Ingram and no Richardson?

I look for a 10-2 season in Tuscaloosa…it shows how well the program is doing, that this would be a disappointment for many of their fans.

The craziest thing for me out of that preview was that Bama returned two starters a couple of years ag and only gave up 13.5 points per game on defense. That is insane!

QB - AJ will have another solid year. I expect his TDs to go up and hopefully his int will stay low.
RB - there are 18 stars between the first 4 guys on the depth chart. I expect Lacy to get the starts but Yeldon will be the 1-2 punch guy. (look for similar production to the Ingram-Richardson 1-2 from 2009)
WR - TONS of talent, just young. Look for Christion Jones to be a go to guy. Bell, Norwood (guy who lit up the national title game against the honey badger) White, Cooper, Black are all guys who will play significant minutes.
OL - potentially 3 first rounders (Jones, Fluker, Warmack) and Cyrus K comes back.
TE - return Williams and will plug in another guy at H back (possibly Brent Calloway)

DL - great group coming back. Jesse Williams is going to be a beast and Square and Dial will be really really good.
LB - lost a lot but return guys who have starts under their belt. We lose Upshaw, Hightower but plug in guys who were #1 at the LB position in their respective recruiting classes (DePriest and Nico Johnson). Hubbard will have a big year - expect a lot of QB hurries and sacks.
DB - Lester returns at S, the other safety will be Sunseri (who started games last year and had two defensive TDs in the spring game), CB will be Milliner - who started as a true fresh and most likely one of the two JC transfers. We should be good here. In our nickel set I would expect to plug in either HaHa Clinton-Dix (#1 S in his class) or Landon Collins (#1 S in his class).

K - we are going to be fine
P- should be fine

While it says we lose a lot, 19-22 projected starters for this year have at least 1 start. The schedule will be tougher with Ark, Mizzou, and LSU on the road and Mich at a neutral game site.

Running the table would be much more difficult than 2009 or last year. There is a reason that back to backs dont happen very often. 11-1 sounds about right but 12-0 would not be out of reach. I definitely do not expect another 2010 drop.

Tigers (real), So Cal, and OK. UGA didn’t beat any top 25 teams last year and probably won’t this year either. WVa is in a tougher conference this year and couldn’t run the table in the weak Big East.
