You need to beat the bushes on ESPN’s FSU board and Warchant and get them over to the Pigskin…......or do I have to scoop them for you?

I hope we will be able to get more fans from all fan bases. This is a great board and a terrific site. I just hope that people get the opportunity to see for themself.

I know I am just a noob, but from how much activity I have read from the summer, which is a very down time, this board should be banging by 1 September.

Look on the bright side…..the entire Duke fan base is already here.

I don’t hang out on ESPN or Warchant anymore. I left a post on the ESPN board right before the switch and that was the end for me. Warchant will ban me if I try to recruit people for SPS. When will they learn its ok to post on 2 websites?

I’ve actually gotten several other people to sign up, but they posted once or twice and that was it. Once SPS has their site updated, I would like for a mass email to go out to all of those registered to come check out the new and improved SPS forum.

I think alot of people know about SPS. I occasionally see an article linked from the Scout board and unlike alot of the other blog sites, SPS blogs don’t take near as much critisizm as BleacherReport for example.

We had a healthy amount of activity on the forums this off season, the most I have ever seen in the 2 offseasons I went through with this site. I imagine the activity will pick up even more when the season starts and we will probably see more people come out and start posting. It would be great if this board was the new ESPN board circa 2007, 2008.

I have to say that this message board format is 100% better than ESPN ever was.  It isn’t even close.  Just reading the older posts I don’t see a lot of the juvenile stuff that is allow on ESPN.  The trolling seems to be pretty tame here.

I don’t even bother with that board.

I like this fellow….Great attitude.

Let me give you new guys a little history.

A long time ago, LONG TIME, there were like me, LostDawg, Redhot, WrecknHavoc, CoastalNole and a few others. We all found this site and posted. For a couple of years it was just us and few others I’ve sadly forgot. Then they got a new site or redesigned this one and it grew some more. Then they got another new look on the site, Bennett got a radio show and the stories started being published all over the place. I read SouthernPigskin.com on ESPN and a bunch of other places.

Then another new look and it grew big. I’ve battled through the Big East years with Chokie fans, the spamming age, Bobby Bowden’s retirement with out of touch FSU fans.. over the years I’m calmed down. Mainly because we’ve beat everyone now and get our respect.

I like this board because they don’t put up with stuff. Lots of good opinions are shared here and most people have good insight and most importantly it’s civil. Or I should say as civil as a message board can be.

I love watching this grow. I’ve told many friends about it. Some come here and don’t post but most read it.
