There seems to be a recurring obsession on this board about conference alignment and Clemson and FSU leaving for the Big 12. You guys need an intervention because it isn’t happening. There are a lot of things I don’t care about the ACC, but taking your marbles and running to the B12 isn’t the answer. Fixing it from within is the correct course of action. Also, it isn’t going to happen and at least from Clemson Universities prospective it is a decided issue.
Geographically, Clemson and FSU could not be it better locations for recruiting weather, kickoff times an so on. Yes I know one of you smarty-pants will say the schools aren’t physically moving, but figuratively they are. Clemson and FSU would no longer have anything in common with true Southern Football and that is not acceptable.
If FSU and/or Clemson left to the Big12, the would become a little better paid version of UTAH when they went to the PAC 12. Forgive me, but the ACC is far better than the B12, not only in football but all of the non-revenue sports.
How are we losing 15 mil? The nonexistent Big 12 tv deal you claim is worth 28 million per school? I mean the longhorn network for the big kid on the block is a bust so it makes sense to assume that the Big 12 will quadruple its tv contract from 7 to 28 mil despite losing 3 states from its footprint and adding one small state. Completely plausible.
Yeah I have used that one before too, except you left out the part where Sun Sports dropped FSU because they were losing money. But the Savannah St game is worth 10 million right?
That is part of the problem, schools like UNC believe since they are worth next to nothing every school in conference is in the same boat. FSU has to get away from these type losers.
Another out and out lie. FSU can’t have the same deal because it does not own tier 3 any more like the gators do. Swofford and Raycom own FSU third tier rights.
Lets make it easy so pines can handle it, these massive TV deals they are talking about mean that Raycom has the rights so surely there is not much to offer, but hey Chad Swofford made five million whatever happens.
“college sports, because of “the massive TV deals the major conferences sign with the networks, don’t have nearly as much to offer regional cable outlets.”
I can’t believe that I am being allowed to be dragged into this. About the money. Under the current BCS contract: It is currently worth somewhere around 150 million I believe. When the new playoff deal kicks in it is projected now to be worth about 600 million dollars. I am hearing something like 80 percent of that money is going to the “Big 5” conferences being the Big12,SEC,Pac12,Big10 and yes the ACC. Certain conferences will get a bigger cut based on performance in post season play, but Clemson and FSU is going to get a pay big pay raise on top of the new TV deal. If Clemson,FSU and VT starts winning BCS Bowls and gets into the playoff, the 5 year look in will generate more money on the new TV deal.
There is enough going that good play in the ACC will start to generate more income without changing the culture.
If the ACC had accepted WVU’s request to join, do you guys think all the Clemson/FSU to Big 12 talk would have ever occurred? I’m a WVU fan, so I’m talking from rose-colored glasses, but I would think that WVU would’ve brought enough stability from a football/basketball standpoint that the league wouldn’t have had teams flirting with other conferences?

By now you have realized that these two feel like if they keep saying stuff over and over it will eventually become true…they have been wrong on every point they have made relating to realignment so they just keep throwing stuff out hoping that something will eventually stick.
Seminole makes numbers up and posts them as true despite the fact I have posted legitimate media numbers showing the Big 12 has made an average of 6.5 million less per school than ACC schools. Clemtgrs simply hates and isnt shy about it. We all know that is the type of person everyone likes to be around.
Glad to see someone else willing to show how stupid this all is.
