I discovered an interesting thread on the Pitt board started by a guy who claims to be a high school coach at a coaching clinic in North Carolina where there seems to be several ACC coaches. I guess he knows some of these coaches and that is what they are telling him.

I am all for North/South. The opposition aint Carolina and Duke. Guarantee you it is VT and UVA to a lesser extent. The alignment was set up for FSU/Miami.

I watched the last Pitt/NCSU game that was a really high scoring affair in Raleigh. The place was packed and there were alot of Pitt fans. I am glad they are in the coastal. I think now that Pitt and Cuse are in the ACC and they have better games, their fans are really going to buy in and support will grow over time.

The tradition is there and I think they both have good coaches now…Carolina used to play home and home with Cuse when I was in school. Good games.

It is very sad watching a debate centering around what is best for the conference, adding Rutgers, UConn or Navy.

Pitt being referred to as the sleeping giant is pure comedy gold.

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

Kind of like saying FSU will be the team of the nineties in 1980 when it was voted worst program of the seventies? Meanwhile Pitt is playing for national championships. I bet that would have gotten some real laughs.

A Navy and Notre Dame combo would be a great addition to the ACC. Two world class institutions of higher learning with great sports traditions also. They can’t compete with places like Iowa St and Kansas St though. No doubt.
