All conferences ceased being conferences when teams stopped playing ALL the other teams in the conference.  At least in CUT4L’s example we would get a true division champion and a more legit conference championship game.

for schools like Clemson, FSU & GT, the 9 game schedule hurts because we play EVERY year our in-state rival, who happens to be in another conference. So, instead of UNC/NCSU(or Duke for some), VT/UVA, it does not negatively impact their HOME schedule like these three teams noted above.

I am a Clemson fan, not an ACC fan, so you’ll have to understand that when our conference and incompetent Commissioner make changes that negatively effect MY school, I don’t like it. It is clearly unfair and biased against us; I would hope the ever-loving ACC tree-huggers would just be honest and admit that it does hurt us. Geez, this ain’t rocket science.

Outside this obvious fact, teams that get 5 home games versus teams that get 4 home games each year will have the upper hand to win the division; is that what we want as a conference?? I know I don’t.

And by the way, I could not give a rats behind what Saban thinks. He ain’t God although he thinks he is.

There is no doubt that the 9 game schedule was designed to screw Clemson. That was the plan all along…

No.

It was designed to maintain the rotation of little 4 games as they already are.

The fact that it screwed Clemson, FSU, and GT over was just a bonus.

God forbid the ACC ever do anything to help the football schools. I honestly believe that the folks in NC…Durham, Greensboro, and Chapel Hill especially…would be perfectly happy if the ACC became the Atlantic 10.

So, my comments stated that the intent was to screw Clemson….. wow, that’s a stretch even for you.

I list Clemson, FSU and GT but at least you noted that we ARE getting screwed, just not “intentionally”.

I tell you what, when and if (we both know that is NEVER) the ACC does anything that screws your Tarheels like they have Clemson time and time again, you can see how you feel about ole Swofford. But since he does nothing that would ever negatively impact UNC, it is easy for you to sit back and watch.

I could not care less whether the intent to screw us was there or not, I know this 9 game schedule does in fact effect us. So, I guess I’ll just keep my mouth shut and let Swofford continue to ruin this league and MY school…... on second thought, NO.

Man Clemson is such a victim…for some of you that post about how conservative you all are on other threads it is amazing how quick yall play victim when it comes to sports.

Yeah the NC schools got protected for sure. Is that why Carolina plays Wake as much as Clemson and State plays Duke so often…try actually using facts for once. FSU and Miami were favored if anything.

One more wrong statement by the Clemson victims. Poor Clemson…you guys are something else. A big bad football school getting run by a bunch of basketball irrelevants. Weird the Little 4 is your boss according to you…or maybe you know it is the Big 4 all along.

Got to love the argument, “Poor Clemson”, when presented with multiple facts on how this isn’t good for Clemson.

Tech fans are already preparing ourselves for our 5 away game years to be the same years we play VT, Clemson and UGA on the road.  Thanks ACC, as if you didn’t know when we play UGA away, we’ve only been alternating since 1934.

Every ACC football school that has a Rival NOT in the ACC is hurt by the 9 Game Rule.

Clemson-South Carolina
FSU-Florida
GT-Georgia
Boston College-Notre Dame

Boston College, being a Small Stadium may not feel the burn as much because they have poor fan attendance and live of the ACC TV Money since they don’t contribute anything to the ACC in any sports at this time.

If Clemson and FSU were in the SEC, as I ultimately want, I would not mind a 9 game schedule because our 2 biggest rivals (UGa and South Carolina) would be in the same division and we wouldn’t need another OOC game to increase our SOS.

I don’t think the ACC has any choice but to tailor the schedule around those teams mentioned with annual OOC rivalries.  Otherwise they could only get 6 home games every other year which is unacceptible.  The upside is 8 home games every other year, which would afford the opportunitty to play a bigtime neutral site matchup, but i prefer the balance.

Our schedule is so out of balance that our AD tried to play UGA in the GA Dome as a neutral site for 1 year in order to switch the year we get them at home.  UGA didn’t want to though.  This is all thanks to the ACC making us play 2 consecutive away games at VT their 2nd and 3rd year in the league.  They had an opportunity to fix some of these things when adding Pitt and Cuse but I doubt they will since they’re just splitting them between the current divisions.

Well I am glad we have a GT fan again on the board at least. A dukie even showed up. Now if we could regain some wahoos we would have a quorum.
