maybe we should wait and see what the deal is instead of relying on yahoo sports whose had it out for us since this nightmare started.
That’s the same thing i heard from some UM fans when Yahoo Sports broke the Shapiro story.
But according to Allen’s federal testimony and the former Hurricanes staffer, Allen’s recruiting infractions occurred almost immediately after Golden’s tenure began and took place with the participation of at least two other former or current coaches – former assistant Aubrey Hill, who left Miami’s staff three weeks into Golden’s tenure, and current assistant coach Micheal Barrow.
you’re assuming people dont lie in testimony? nooo that never happens.
and if it did, does that mean golden knew about it? you do realize that if it did occur, and it was immediately after he took over, that he could have not known a thing about it. when golden came into the program, the word was he dont mess around. meaning that could have been kept from him.

Yes, sometimes people lie in testimony but sometimes they don’t. In this situation, what would he gain from lying? Did Nevin Shapiro lie also? And yes, Golden could have plausible deniability, but if you think that no one on the UM staff is guilty then you are just being naive.
While I am in no way defending Miami…I do think the media tends to let bits of info out in small bursts to keep a story in the news and get more eyeballs on it. I also think Golden seems to be a pretty clean coach.
Proof about the media is the latest bit about Hakeem Nicks being ineligible in 2008. That has been known since the NCAA report and Carolina is the one who uncovered it and self reported. Yet the N&O decides a run a story this week. They are milking this for as long as they can.

I think I agree with this.
From reading what Golden is saying, and perhaps how he said it, he seems dumbfounded. I think this is going to end up alot more smoke than fire.
I know a lot of the recent developments in college football have given us reason to doubt every college coach (Joe Paterno, Jim Tressel, etc.), but it still appears to me that Al Golden is a good guy. I’ll wait to see more on this before I make a judgment one way or another.
Pat Dye was forced to resign because it was said that “he should have known.”
Two asst. coaches were involved in paying players and it was proven that Dye did not know .
