I am to a certain extent. Some of the sports I just have no understanding of at all so it’s hard to get into to. But I like watching the broadcasts and learning some of the cool stories that are out there.

About the same as you. I usually tune in to see what’s on and enjoy certain sports. Sometimes I’ll give a new sport a try before quickly realizing there is a reason I wasn’t that into it. I keep an eye on the medal counts too. I agree on the cool human interest stories; there are a lot of those.

I am. I love watching these obscure sports that we hardly, if ever, get to see. When is the last time the almighty has shown a handball match? It’s also a chance to see how passionate the athletes and fans from other countries really are, even if it is table tennis.

I absolutely love it! I cerainly wouldn’t want to watch these obscure sports constantly, but once every four years is perfect.

Just read that the US women’s gymnastics team won the gold medal. Certainly am happy to hear that.

I like basketball, swimming, women’s gymnastics, and I think I would’ve been a great water polo player if I was ever exposed to it as a kid…. That’s my kind of game.

Jusst been watching the highlights online…NBC is not on the cutting edge of technology for sure with their coverage. Listened to Christine Brennan knock them on Cowherd yesterday.

ESPN is way ahead of them on sports coverage. CBS is running a close second IMO though.

Don’t short yourself! Find out when the Swedish women or women’s teams are participating in any sport and watch that bad boy in slow motion. They are hot!! Both indoor and beach Volleyball….yeah man. They’re a lot of good looking people playing these games from all over the world. A cultural gathering of the hot people if you will….don’t get me wrong there are some not so good looking folks too but I’m going to just congratulate them on winning the weightlifting gold and move on.

I feel you on the water polo too. That looks like fun.

ESPN, well its all they do

CBS gets football, among other sports

NBC does the NBA and the Maceys day Parade, doesnt take quite as much to do a sport thats played in a climate controlled arena where you can get the camera pretty much as close to the action as you want

Sometimes you (the IOC) get what you pay for

They announce who is going to win… then they show the replay of what happened.

I like them. I’ll echo what Matt said. I wouldn’t watch Handball unless it were the Olympics. I mean that’s a weird sport. In fact, I’m pretty sure my friends and I made up a similar game in gym class when we were 13.

Around the baseball and softball fields here there is a tradition where the kids who aren’t playing play a game called “Wall Ball”.  It became so big that when the local Dixie Youth league renovated their complex they built a stand alone wall just for the kids to play “Wall Ball”.

The other night there was a clip or something about the Hand Ball competition and my youngest said “Who knew that Wall Ball was an Olympic sport.”  I had to laugh.

Whoever missed the USA vs Canada women’s soccer match just now missed an instant classic…..wow what a game.  I’m not a big soccer watcher but that was a great game.

USA vs Japan….rematch.  For Gold.

That was almost as good as USA vs Brazil in the World Cup last year and just ahead of the final vs Japan only because we lost.

As far as hotness goes the field hockey teams seem to be well stocked.  Maybe it’s the uniforms.

I thought overall a pretty well done Olympics for the Brits.

As a resident of the Atlanta area during 96 I know the work and dedication it takes to make it happen without incident. Congratulations to the UK for a job well done.
