Actual practice for the team starts on Thursday. There will be some conditioning drills tomorrow and maybe some type of media stuff. We have anywhere from 70-75 guys on scholarship. I’m sure a couple of those open 10 or so will be handed out to some outstanding walkons….as many as 3. That still leaves us with around 6 to 9 remaining open scholarships. Man, I hope these boys ate their wheaties and said their prayers at night cause if people start getting hurt or that other way to lose playing time….. it’s gonna get ugly. From the schedule it looks like we only have two 2 a days but with the mother nature doing what she does that can easily change.

Going into camp…I’m only guessing here.
1. Ken Malcome
2. Richard Samuel
3. Keith Marshall
4. Todd Gurley
5. Brandon Barton

I think coming out Samuel will be the starter and watch out for Barton to get some pt in a lot of games this season. There may be an effort to maybe redshirt Gurley….but that all depends on if he comes to camp and shows otherwise.

By the time we come to y’all’s place….who knows gamey, I just hope they stay out of the poky long enough to stay healthy and play.

I really like Samuel and his team attitude. I think he can be an effective runner. Add him with Marshall and his speed and I think that is a good combo. I just dont know what to expect out of Malcome at this point.

I think that Gurley is going to end up being a better runner than Marshall. Just my opinion.

Me neither really. On the other hand what we saw at the tail end of the season and from what I’ve been hearing since April the kid has really gotten his mind right and has been doing all the right things. Heard that about IC too so….

He definitely has the frame and body to do the job in this league. He is very green though. But he sure does look good right off the bus.

Yeah when Davis got fired and Gurley dropped Carolina I was more bummed than when Marshall outright picked UGA over the other NC schools. Gurley will be the bigger star after it is all said and done IMO although I think they both will have good careers.

It doesn’t matter… Once CMR jumps off the high dive… the season is over.

That would surprise me. I like Gurley a lot but Marshall getting those spring reps gives him a big boost. Ideally I think the coaches would like to redshirt Gurley.

I’m voting for Keith Marshall come October… I think he’s the real deal.
