Too bad both teams could not squeeze in the Big 12 by 2013. That is another 12 million missed out on. Too many ends to tie together however. A&M couldn’t wrap it up in time to go to the SEC in one year either. Clemson and FSU are still headed there however.
Word around the campfire is FSU now has an open invitation and their research has shown them there is much more money in a big 12 move. Now we are waiting to see the TV deal finalized and the champ bowl vs SEC game finalized.
A CCG game has made the cut as the SEC insisted on it. Not having one would have given the XII an advantage in any national championship game. FSU wants to know how much money is to be made on a conference championship game and a SEC vs XII bowl game. The XII realizes a conference championship game is unavoidable.
The XII is going to expand in time for the playoff scenario. ND is not going into a conference and FSU, Clemson are the two teams which can bring cash.
There have been no official contacts but unofficial contacts have made it clear that both XII and FSU have expressed strong mutual interest in getting this done.
Once the TV contracts are signed and the champ bowl agreed upon you will see official talks begin to take place. I hope Clemson comes along with FSU.
