It would definitely be a change in coaching style.

That would be great, I’d like to see what he would do with UGA and I’d love to see him coach again

This would be incredible! Ld3 you think this is just normal coaching vacancy bull? I would be so pumped and the school would get so wild over basketball but for some reason I just don’t see it happening.

This would be the bball equivalent of a South Carolina football hire. Knight is past his prime illustrated by his final days at Indiana and never really doing that much at TT (although I admit he took nothing and made it something)

Ironic that SC can hire an up and comer in bball and do well but sticks to over the hill dudes for football…I guess having a UNC alum AD means they have more foresight and vision on the hardwood. smile

He!! I’d be happy with a team that wins more that 6 conference games at this point. We need someone who can stress the importance of playing with and beating on a regular basis the best teams in our league. I can’t remember the last time we beat the turds, cats, vols, or rolling crimson in round ball, much less in the same season.

He has job security right now.  The only way he would do it is if it looked good to him.

For as much attention bringing in Bobby Knight in to take over the UGA basketball program would bring, I still can’t buy in. He is past his prime, he can’t recruit and in all reality he would get waxed by Donovan, Pearl, Gillispie, Gottfried, ect.

I just don’t think he will be able to bring in the type of talent or be able to out coach the guys on the other bench who are proven winners and have loads of talent.

Really? I disagree ld3. I think half of the recruiting battle is being a name. Plus Knight obviously knows Xs and Os. I think he would bring immediate credibility.

I agree.  He is a tough coach but he would bring in recruits.

Nobody would out coach Knight but I disagree that recruits want to play for him. Todays players do not dig that type of coaching. Like it or not, his style does not resonate today.

K and Williams are somewhat old school but no where near Knight. He is a throwback to the seventies and early 80s. Times have changed.

I think recruits would want to play for Knight, he probably isn’t going to get recruits like the top schools will but I think there are plenty of good recruits that would like to play for him
