Dabo Swinney said during his Sunday media teleconference that Clemson would also get an Atlantic Division trophy if they beat NC State….FSU would play in ACCCG with the tiebreaker.
FSU will get the nod as the representative in the championship game because of their win against us, but we will tie for the division if we beat NCST. What say you, FSU fans?
A co-Division tie is not something to cheer about…....Unless we make it to the ACCCG it is nothing more than a trophy for participation…...........bragging about such an award is something a USCjr fan would do and even get a ring for

I’m not really looking at this as something great. We won the rest of our games but lost to the team that is also the “co-division winners,” thus they are the winners.
I am glad to hear he gets some kind of trophy, he is all about the post season.
Wouldn’t this just be a regular season award?
On another note, the “SEC, SEC, SEC, ...” BS in the polls has actually driven me to hope Clemson blasts USCe and whoever they get in a bowl (Bama maybe?). Not saying I think it will happen, but I hope it does. Too bad VT’s run of 10 win seasons stopped this year.
I think you all are mistaking my post as bragging or cheering…....its not. Just a fun poke at FSU fans to let them know that even when they finally get back to the ACC championship that they are only getting there on a tie breaker rather then a straight run of the league. Nothing more, don’t care about trophies. Hell, winning the ACC this year is like winning the special Olympics and now FSU is in a position it HAS to win the ACC there is no other choice….if they lose woe is this conference. Can you imagine if FSU gets beat by someone like Duke or Miami in the championship? Ouch, bad press forever.
Clemson needs to focus on winning the next two games….. PERIOD. I really don’t care about anything else.
FSU needs to learn how to play better football. Since the game with us, EJ has looked very pedestrian, much like the entire FSU team. Tons of talent and average football. Looked awful against VT.
If I were the Swoff, I’d get all the ADs together via teleconference and say “listen guys, the 2 best teams out of the Coastal division are staying home for the post season. There is an outside chance that we may be able to get a rep in the National Championship game. Since these are unusual circumstances, I propose that Clemson plays FSU in the ACCCG. It will give the winner a major boost from the computers and the rating for this game could be the best we’ve ever had for an ACCCG, something that will look good when we renegotiate with ESPN.”
A couple of road block:
(1) VT will want a rematch with FSU after nearly knocking them off.
(2) Since the NC game is still a looooong shot, FSU really does not have much to gain playing a harder team after playing the Gators.
(3) Clemson is almost assuredly going to the Sugar bowl if they win out, lose again they may not go or even drop as far as the Russell Athletic bowl.
