I saw on my news ticker watching ABC that some serious talks are happening. It looks like a done deal. We’ll see if the ACC can hold UMd to that $50m exit fee, if not, then expect some more defections.
“Late Friday night, Pennsylvania radio host Jerry Fisher tweeted that sources told Phil Grosz, the Penn State editor for Rivals.com, that Maryland is set to join the Big Ten in 2014 with an announcement coming next week. Jeff Ermann of Inside Maryland Sports then indicated in a post that the rumors are “more than just rumors.”
Jesus…just when you think this nonsense is going to settle down, crappy Maryland goes and screws it all up so now we get to hear Seminole go on and on. in the end if Maryland leaves…who cares. Nobody in Maryland seems to based on attendance. I still doubt they jet but if they do…bye bye.
Dennis Dodd is officially the worst College Writer in the universe solely for suggesting Carolina to the big ten. God I hope Carolina has better leadership than the morons that run Maryland. The idea of playing Iowa and Minnesota and MARYLAND now on a regular basis makes me want to puke. I swear people make this crap up just for readership. Crushing them in football next week and basketball in a month or two will be more fun this year if for no other reason than for reinvigorating Seminole and the BIG 12 insanity.
Yeah Sem…i agree. Your posts are like night of the zombie for sure.
I am not convinced Maryland leaves but if they do are you really going to cry? You gonna miss those games in College Park? I actually will a little but more likely will miss the basketball. Also more annoyed that these jokers are the ones who vetoed SC back in 1990 and are now walking to a midwestern conference with Rutgers? Enjoy that Maryland fans. Yuck.
Byrd stadium will be full of Minnesota and Northwestern fans for sure. At least UVA and VT fans can drive there.
I get it you think this is your ticket out but Maryland is going to pay the full 50 mil to walk as the contract is signed and the lawyer fees to fight it are not in their budget, and your school will get a piece of that check. With you always complaining bout money you should be at least happy with that.
I still bet this does not happen, but am willing to admit it is definitely a possibility. I will be interested to hear the official response but i guarantee your favorite boy Swofford is talking the turtles off the ledge as we speak. I suspect there will be an internal struggle and we will just have to see who wins based on the decision they make.
That 50 million exit fee is not worth paper it is written on and Maryland or FSU did not even sign it. WVU paid 7 million to leave the big east one year early. It has little do with what Swofford thinks and more what a judge would view the damages as. He may as well declared a one billion exit fee for all the good it will do him.
Maryland is gone, their BOT meets monday to finalize it. They cannot make it on the chicken dollars of the ACC nor can any team which spends a lot on athletics. Good luck with your basketball team. This has been reported all around the horn including ESPN and Sports illustrated. Most got it but you.
The ACC is bunch tunnel vision losers as they cannot see what brings in the money and they didn’t have the guts get rid of the loser Swofford. They deserve the destruction they are so richly headed for.
Pitt and Syracuse were brought in to cover Maryland, FSU and possibly others leaving. Slive is after VT and NCSU also by the way.
I am sure it wont cost you anything but a cup of coffee to test out that fee…we all know lawyers work for really poorly done photoshops right? in that case FSU will have no problem.
but all your other predictions have been true so why not this right? Lets see you, Greg Swaim and Dennis Dodd have all predicted VT to the SEC, FSU to the Big 12, Clemson to the Big 12, Notre Dame to the Big 12 so why not Maryland to the Big 10.
Also, exactly what tunnel vision are you referring to?
