I saw on my news ticker watching ABC that some serious talks are happening. It looks like a done deal. We’ll see if the ACC can hold UMd to that $50m exit fee, if not, then expect some more defections.

Lord I hope that is right! FSU will bail shortly afterwards. Maryland can initiate the lawsuit to declare the 50 million exit fee non-enforceable.

If this ends up happening and no other flood gates break the ACC better get on the phone with Louisville or Cinnci asap for an invite.  But I’m still hoping for a Clemson/FSU move.

Byrd stadium will be full of Minnesota and Northwestern fans for sure. At least UVA and VT fans can drive there.

I get it you think this is your ticket out but Maryland is going to pay the full 50 mil to walk as the contract is signed and the lawyer fees to fight it are not in their budget, and your school will get a piece of that check. With you always complaining bout money you should be at least happy with that.

I still bet this does not happen, but am willing to admit it is definitely a possibility. I will be interested to hear the official response but i guarantee your favorite boy Swofford is talking the turtles off the ledge as we speak. I suspect there will be an internal struggle and we will just have to see who wins based on the decision they make.

That 50 million exit fee is not worth paper it is written on and Maryland or FSU did not even sign it. WVU paid 7 million to leave the big east one year early. It has little do with what Swofford thinks and more what a judge would view the damages as. He may as well declared a one billion exit fee for all the good it will do him.

Maryland is gone, their BOT meets monday to finalize it. They cannot make it on the chicken dollars of the ACC nor can any team which spends a lot on athletics. Good luck with your basketball team. This has been reported all around the horn including ESPN and Sports illustrated. Most got it but you. 

The ACC is bunch tunnel vision losers as they cannot see what brings in the money and they didn’t have the guts get rid of the loser Swofford. They deserve the destruction they are so richly headed for.
