The Dude again? Really? I figured he’d be writing for The Onion by now. He’s just an attention whore with zero credibility…ah, I see why you like him so much. Carry on.
I do think this is more credible and I dont doubt Seminole represents a large group of FSU fans but I still maintain that short of the SEC, the ACC is the best option for FSU:
Rest assured the 50 million came about with lawyers present. Maryland is sorely mistaken if they think they are walking out at half price as the prez suggested. Of course those geniuses also bankrupted themselves over the years so should we expect anything less?
Most sources are estimating Maryland will have a net gain of $19MM per year after 2017…. that’s not chump change so I applaud them for doing what is best for their program. They don’t owe the ACC anything except what is required in the by-laws. And this is from someone who can’t stand the Turtles.
Jim Delaney just gave the finger to ND and the ACC. Since I have zero trust in Swofford, I can’t wait to see his next move.
The Dude was discussing realignment before some of you around here even knew what the term meant. He said FSU was looking at the Big 12 ... guess what news flash, they are.
And yes we talked about the increased revenue in every conference as opposed to the ACC which offers about half the revenue.
If the Dude said water was wet, some of you would argue against it due to some pavlovian reaction. It is not the messenger, it is the message. Stay focused.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without excepting it…........Aristotle

How will they be profiting 19M a year after 2017? Is that what they’ll take in annually or is this the difference between what they’re getting now VS what they’ll be getting then?
Rutgers and Maryland will be getting the following revenue from their new athletic affiliation:
2014 32m
2015 33m
2016 34.5
2017 43m
Take a moment and let that sink in. Rutgers. In New Jersey. Not a southern football school like FSU in a football crazed like state Florida with a national following and a naturally elite recruiting pool. Rutgers. In New Jersey.
By 2017 the ACC pay out should be up to a whopping 15 million at most.
How the F@ck do you expect those teams to be getting 43M a year? The $EC doesn’t even make close to that. I say check your facts and run your numbers before posting garbage like that.
That is Maryland’s estimate hot shot, I won’t leave you a link because facts and figures don’t sink in too well here at times. The BTN network value is being redone after 2016. The payout grows as the subscribers increase.
That is a reason for Maryland, big TV market ... increase in subscribers to BTN .... getting the picture?
They were discussing this on TV today. Maryland.
There is more $$$.
If you are going to be a cupcake game for everyone in the conference you might as well get paid for it.
Jimbo to Tennessee.

Maryland and Rutgers will no doubt make more money over time but those numbers are completely made up, hence no source. Seminole is using rumored estimates of income a decade from now and saying it starts tomorrow.
FACT Banking income on cable revenues will not matter in the future because NOBODY WILL HAVE CABLE in the future. The Big 10 was smart to create their network now but just like the midwest, cable is dying.
FACT Rutgers and Maryland both have to pay exit fees. Fact neither will get full shares initially. Nebraska is still not getting a full share.
I hate it when facts get in the way of internet posts.
