Rivalry Week is the best week of the year for any college football fanatic. There is something illogical about having a deep-rooted hatred for another school’s athletic teams, but that just makes the hatred even more fun.

I hope you guys enjoy Rivalry Week, and try not to do anything that might land yourself in jail.

It is not heaven on earth and angels are not running the show. Logic is your friend. We cannot all be students of logic but we should at least strive to be a casual fan. GMOs are banned in 50 countries, we cannot even get them labeled as we continue to dance with the elephant in the room. With each new dog and pony show we dance the dance like we were the homecoming queen.

The ACC seemed fit to take away UNC’s two most hated rivals and replace them with Maryland. I will probably not watch UNC’s game, as they are favored by roughly 25 pts. There will be more interesting and spirited games on TV, I’m sure.

I’ll be watching the Tar Heels. The seniors, and possibly Gio, in their last home game, and our last, for this season. Hark the Sound.

Those are all good reasons, amosbryant. I’m 100% Tar Heel, and I think they will throttle Maryland. That said, the ACC did UNC no favor by scheduling this game.

I agree with you, 98, on your main point. We should be playing State, Duke, or Virginia in the season finale.

I liked the Duke game being earlier this year as it was an uninspiring finale but I hear ya’lls point.

I DO NOT like rivalry weekend being on Thanksgiving as someone who travels to the beach for Thanksgiving every year. I spend huge amounts of marriage capital to make a game this weekend. This year my account is empty.

Good points too, So Pines. The ideal Carolina season finale would be to play State the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Yes! I would be totally for this but OBrien was against it as he did not like playing a Coastal team the last game of the season if it would ever cause a rematch in the championship game.

We may see a return to it though as I think student attendence suffers on these weekends cause school is not in session…but who cares about students in this day and age.

It is all about TV and non alum fans who will abandon you in a heartbeat and want decisions made in their interest, not the schools!!!!!! Yeah!
