What would sell you on an ACC GOR?

GOR = The schools gives up their tv rights to the conference. I think this is the only way that will keep the ACC from getting picked apart.

The ACC is going to have to renegotiate their tv deal with the new members and I pray it does not become extended longer than the 15 years it has now. I hope ESPN would be willing to over pay a little to insure their investment stays intact.

I’d settle for an average of $23m a year per member, but I’m probably dreaming if I think the ACC can get that.

There are other ways to the boost revenue stream for the so called “football schools” to keep them happy. Basically they would all be loaded up into the same division. Imagine splitting the gate receipts every year with VT instead of Wake, GT instead of BC, etc. It would be a way of creating unequal revenue sharing, without calling it that.

I think the fact that FSU and Clemson signed off on this lawsuit does a lot more for the conference security than you might think.

The ACC needs to win some games. Swofford has got the conference in the playoff and a bowl tie in…
but the product on the field has to rise to meet the seat at the table it has been given. Of course he is a terrible commish though…I forgot.

For FSU probably a shotgun to head is what it would take.

FSU is trying to speed this lawsuit along as soon as possible so it can be settled and they know the price of seeing the ACC in their rear view mirror. Having signed on their attorneys will be provided with all relevant information on a timely basis as the lawsuit moves forward.

Swofford could turn himself in to authorities and plead guilty to market rigging and price fixing, bribery and payoffs, pleading insanity and urge the court to give back third tier rights.

Nothing.  A Grant of Rights is essentially a mass suicide pact. We sign that and we take the future of our athletics program out of our hands and put them in the hands of a bunch of schools that we have a long history with and know that despite every few years they say “We are committed to football” it’s all a bunch of BS.

Agreed.  NOTHING would get me to sign anything for the ACC, nothing.
