He wanted them in order to obtain Clemson and Florida State. Now with the departure of Maryland the flood gates have opened once again.

FSU has beaten the SEC champ at least 8 times, and we don’t even play in the SEC, lol:

FSU beat the 1987 SEC champs 34-6
FSU beat the 1988 SEC champs 13-7
FSU beat the 1989 SEC champs 22-14
FSU beat the 1993 SEC champs 33-21
FSU beat the 1994 SEC champs 23-17
FSU beat the 1996 SEC champs 24-21
FSU beat the 2000 SEC champs 30-7
FSU beat the 2013 SEC champs 34-31

Give it up for the SEC, a conference which almost beat FSU

Notre Dame has little desire to play games in Ames, Stillwater, Manhattan or Lubbock when they can play in Boston, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Atlanta and Miami.

They don’t have to worry about money either as their TV contract pays 25 millio a year and is set to increase soon. FSU will make 13 million next year.  Notre Dame is also situated near these “ideal locations” and won’t have to fly cross country like FSU.

Dude how many times have we explained to you that Notre Dame will NEVER be in a conference with the schools of the Big 12. They have nothing in common and do not play the same sports.

I would not ever say Clemson and FSU will never be in the Big 12. I just dont think they will and all the evidence I can see confirms my thought.

I will say with certainty that Notre Dame will NEVER be in the Big 12. To think otherwise means you don’t understand Notre Dame…

Agree, but they won’t be in the ACC either.

Maybe not, until they no longer have access and then they most certainly will be in the ACC.
If they win the championship it might actually make the others take their seat from the table.

You also said their current membership deal would not happen and it did.

Aren’t you a Pac 12 dude? What is your deal with the ACC? Why do you care?

What did I say about their current membership deal?  Notre Dame basically raped the acc, all they gave in exchange was to schedule some acc teams.  As for what I care, I am a CFB fan, with national interests.  What do you mean about others taking their seat from the table?

The conferences allow Swarbrick to sit there as a single AD while everyone else is represented by their conferences. If the conferences cut them out they would have to join.

The reason they havent is because Notre Dame would immediately join the ACC. Them winning though might change Delaney’s mind and he seems to somehow run everything.

The Notre Dame ACC agreement is hardly a raping. ACC gets to play them without paying them anything. Every ACC school will get a million dollar raise and Notre Dame gets nothing but a schedule. They said it themselves that this deal is financially neutral for them.
How is it not a win?

complaining bout the ND/ACC deal is like looking a gift horse in the mouth, except maybe when it comes to trouble with OOC games (but even then not really)

that being said, i still think we left a lot on the table there

Good Analogy…I couldn’t find those words to write. Of course I wish the deal could have been more too…

Notre Dame’s football team will remain independent until it is more than obvious that they must be in a conference to survive. I personally do not see that time ever happening. They will play 5 ACC games, and can still play USC, OU, Navy, Mich. St., etc… They can maintain a SOS near the top while maintaining independence. If they are successful like this year… there is no way they will be excluded from any type of championship process. ND is ND, and that’s how that works.
