Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Talk about fallout from a crappy end of the season.  Will it by Dykes or Morris at NCST?

I knew he’d be in demand, I just figured we had him for sure for at least 1 more year.  We’ll see.

My thoughts were he’s probably a year or two away from being ready to run his program but that he would draw some interest from teams who need to become more exciting. I thought Kentucky would be one, but N.C. State certainly qualifies as a program in need of some flair.

The local news here is saying NCSU can finish this pretty quick. That makes me think it will be either Dykes or Morris. Just as Clem says…. “we’ll see”. I do know NCSU wants an energetic coach who can go out and sell the school to recruits. Morris may be that

Either one would be a good hire for them. Dykes would need to bring Tony Franklin along with him though.

Clem if NCSU hires Morris, hire Franklin away from Dykes.

FSU has beaten the SEC champ at least 8 times, and we don’t even play in the SEC, lol:

1987 champs 34-6
1988 champs 13-7
1989 champs 22-14
1993 champs 33-21
1994 champs 23-17
1996 champs 24-21
2000 champs 30-7
2013 champs 34-31

The Jimbo Pistol is 5-1 vs SEC but Auburn had a moral victory, ahead at halftime. College football sees how talent is oozing into Tally and they are afraid!

State always follows UNC. Whenever UNC makes a coaching change in football, State does the same. UNC gets an offensive minded, excitable and aggressive coach and State sees what we have and then wants one for themselves. I thought 5-1 against UNC would satisfy State fans…I’ve always believed Tom O’brien would get you 7-9 wins a year consistently but never be in the national spotlight. Looking at who’ve they’ve interviewed…these guys are clones of Fedora. If you truly claim to be the true “flagship” university of North Carolina then stop following UNC’s lead!

State’s coaching search has nothing to do with UNC or who their current coach is.  That’s ridiculous.

Chad Morris a clone of Fedora?  Laughable. His strategies came from Mahlzan but he’s been running the same offense for quite some time now.

Depends on definition of “clone”. I’m just pointing out that State’s candidates all have the same qualities as Fedora. Not that they’re his protege’s or anything like that. Fedora got the ball rolling at Florida and Oklahoma State. Defense is what needs work!

If I was North Carolina State I would hire either Chad Morris or go get Neal Brown from Texas Tech and give him a shot.

Whoever they get better bring a lunch pail. Louisville will be in the Atlantic Division.

Sounds like they are gonna take a break for the weekend to interview more…
that sounds like they are gonna interview the two MAC coaches also.

I will be very interested in how this turns out. I think Yow is a good agressive AD and State will get an exciting hire.

If they do hire Morris, Dabo’s days are numbered at clemson.

Hearing some noise now that Morris might be out of the picture at N.C. State.

I heard yesterday that Morris withdrew his name from consideration.  I think he was using this as practice for when he interviews for a real HC job one day.

Zing. Damn. Really? You think a 2-4 million a year job is not a real HC job?

What is a real job? I would take NCSU over Auburn or Arkansas any day.

Realistic expectations and a better chance to win.

TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, OK State or other surrounding schools from his roots. Most of those will take a time to open up. If a school like Tennessee was smart they would throw all their money at Gary Patterson to get him. That would free up a desirable job in Morris’ home state. I’m not saying NCSU isn’t a good gig, but I doubt he would go to a rival school in the same division as Clemson. When he leaves, I think it’ll be for a higher profile job, and probably in Big 12 country.
