Dear god.  Now the NCAA will have to make LOI’s include a phrase that says you sign away your likeness rights to the NCAA or it will really get out of hand.  That’s the only way they can save face and keep kids from getting paid by boosters.  You know I wonder if I can sue EA for using my likeness too?  I wear an orange shirt and scream at Clemson football games, what do their fans in game do?

I hope Johnny Football gets his tailed knocked in this year.  Hope his ego gets to him and he just has a terrible year.  He’s a douche IMO.

Wait he can’t copyright it until hes out of college right? He can just make claims towards someone else who is using his likeness for profitability.

On your likeness regarding sports, I think there is. Like “Johnny Football”. Because he isn’t allowed to make a profit off it.

This would be the loophole. If he had planned this, then I would expect it to cause some major issues. If it just happened as an honest mistake by the coorperation and Manziel went after it, then so be it. He isn’t exactly hurting for money (his parents are ridiculously loaded). I think its funny when people see AJ McCarron’s car and say “See! See! Alabama pays players!” haha McCarron is loaded and could afford a different car for each day of the week.

Manziel isnt the first one to do this either, RG3 did it, as did some others. But usually it doesnt occur until they start preparing for the draft and their agent tells them they should trademark their likeness. By that time its too late to seek damages. Manziel went ahead and got it set up so we will see how it plays out. sure will be funny when all the johny football praising stops, and they stop calling him johny football
