Well I disagree with your assessment. The only loss that really looks bad is Wake Forest. Duke and Virginia are at the bottom of the ACC for a reason. The NC State game was a toss up with many people picking the Gamecocks. Night isn’t over yet and the ACC can pick up wins against a top SEC team and Pac 10 team.

so since they are at the bottom it is ok to lose to W&M;???
It is getting laughable…outside of the Big East probably the ACC is without question the worst league out there…Ill at least give them credit for playing some tough games…

so your putting the Big 10 above the Big east and the ACC?
While I’ll agree UVa, and Duke were terrible..Md wasn’t really expected to go and beat Cal (that margin certainly didn’t look good). Well GaT, Clemson, BC, UNC beat their opponents. VaT held their own for a while, but with the loss of both the starting tailback and tight end….it wasn’t in the cards. If you’re saying games against 1AA teams don’t count…so be it. UNC has their chance against a Big East team next week. It will all balance out. VaT will win. Whoever loses Monday night will win some games. It will balance out. Duke, Md, and UVa are just not good. I expected more from Duke, but when half the team catches swine flu during training camp…it will show. Anyway, as far as I’m concerned my team is 1-0 with a very winnable game next week.
I find this thread laughable. VT lost but they still get credit for helping the ACC? Yet you’re not listing BC, Clemson, UNC….everyone else who won pretty handedly against their opponents. Wait for the meat and potatoes of the schedule before making a judgment like this. And as far as i’m concerned there are only 3 teams in the SEC, Florida, Bama and everyone else. We’ll see what happens.
12-20 the ACC’s last 20 out of conference games including 4-6 yesterday the first day of college football season after listening how the ACC was making a statement this fall.
Jumping to conclusions can make an eventual fool of folks. I’m not saying the ACC is going to be great, but I say let the season play out a little more. Outside of UVa, and to a certain degree Duke, all of these losses are believeable. I think Al Groh is engraving his tomb stone. WFU’s loss goes to show the parity of midlevel teams in different conferences. Md’s loss was no surprise. Everybody was saying let’s see if VT can make a statement, well they didn’t. Personally, I’m looking forward to next week when UNC plays UConn out of the big bad Big East. The contender in the Atlantic plays against an up and comer in the Coastal on Monday. UNC has a game against an up and coming ECU team in two weeks. As far as who were being called the legitimate contenders they all won or have not played, except VT. Those who forecast NCSU to win the Atlantic clearly didn’t realize how that team functions, apparently.

That’s whats laughable.
The ACC is still trying to put themselves into position for 13 point win over Liberty College. Duke and Maryland could beat Liberty College by more than 13.
If that midget wrestler gets hurt in Morgantown they are finished. He is all they have got. The death threats will most likely start against Stewart by the mounties.
