I can’t believe I acctually enjoyed reading an article about the devil. I may let him kick my a$$ on the golf course after reading this….if he paid for it. smile. The guy knows an awful lot of football and has one nutty sense of humor.

But, as I’ve said many times here, he is the devil and yes g8 it’s b/c he is and alway will be a turd. wink

I liked:

“I don’t think I’ve won enough games lately to have any outlandish quotes,”

Not a jab at the Cocks, but I just found that funny.  Outlandish quotes, lol.  I love when coaches have crazy quotes.

“The glamour schools are going to recruit all the top guys,”

Hows it feel to support a glamour school lost? wink  Is that where they teach Cosmetology?

I’ve always found Spurrier entertaining.

One thing I noticed is that he is much more positive about the team this year than he has been since he’s been at USC.

Perhaps. But one thing I’ve found over the years is pretty much a Law of College Football: there is a fine line between positive and delusional for many, many fans.

That is certainly true, but Spurrier usually leans to the other side - or at least the painfully honest middle.

Guys come on now… we just know he has now been at Carolina long enough to think….....THIS YEAR IS THE YEAR!!  hahaha     But he was pretty honest when he said hey its time for us (USCe) to win some big games.

I find Spurrier to be positive, and the fans to be delusional.

On that note I’d agree with you that he seems more positive this year.  Perhaps its because the heat was turned up with the baseball team winning it all?  I think this may have something to do with it.  Especially since Steve saw it in person, he wants it, the school wants it, and the fans want it.

If Steve doesn’t take the program to the next level then he may be on the hot seat next year.  Does anyone know how high this recruiting class is ranked?

It was the most fun I ever had watching college football when Coach Spurrier was around here.  From “Auburn having not colored in the coloring books that were destroyed on the fire”, to ” I heard noone ever hung half a hundred on Georgia” there was never a dull moment when he was around.  He’s dangerously optimistic this year….............look out cause its not in his nature to rah rah for no reason.
