Just a question i thought of after rummaging through this off topic board with all the racism talk.  I am being serious. It seems like if you have no argument left you just call somebody or some group racist and that about covers it.  judging by what you read on blogs and see from groups in government and politcs and teh news I would surmise that about 80% of the population is racist.  So i guess if someone calls you a racist do you even care anymore? Has it become thrown around so much it is like calling some one a doodyhead at this point. Just asking.

Somehow I think doodyhead is worse. smile.

I still think racism is a big deal when it is on a personal/face to face level. Trading remarks in the media or in some type or form of prepared rhetoric, or running off at the mouth around your friends about stuff where it’s just done for attention is goofy to me. I have a neighbor that is so blinded by his racism he doesn’t see how stupid it really is.

This sums up my take on your thread. I really hope you can take a few minutes and watch this http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/vp/38372844#38372844

You’ll be a better American for doing so.

Bingo.  Sure there are racists.  There always will be.  Aside from education, there’s not much can be done to defeat stubborness and evil.  Those are personal choices.  However, IMO the majority of racism in this country today is perceived and not necessarily real.  It’s disgusting but there’s $ to be made by promoting it.  See today’s political left.  Some—not all—play on the fears of minorities who are not that far removed from actually suffering real racism. So when these libs can’t defeat logic and commonsense…... just brand the otherside racist.  Then try to get re-elected or start a coalition and repeat.

The state’s rights people are certainly racist. Whenever I hear people defend state’s rights, I think Confederacy, slavery, segregation and Jim Crow. There is one ideology that keeps on defending state’s rights, conservativism.

Mountain West, none of that is conservatism. It’s called radical right. Big difference.

This is why Fox can falsely report the bullcrap they do and STILL have the radicals believe the crap when it’s clearly found to be lies.
