I had the same thought. He’s going to start in the first game too.

Revis wasn’t teasing everyone with a retirement. I’ve read where it seems his agents were holding things up, implying not Revis himself. My man Rex apparently cussed out the agents and voila! A deal.

What concerns me is he said himself that he is in shape but not in football shape. Yet he’s starting. I’m not liking this.

My Farve reference had nothing to do with Revis retiring or retirement in general. Farve pulls his stuff to get out of camp and It would appear that Revis did so as well…. that and more $$.

I think this was pretty much the same amount the Jets were offering from the start of the holdout. Revis wanted like 16 mill a yr. So yeah, I think he wanted to miss camp and see the max the jets would offer.

I knew it. This is what happens when you don’t stay in football shape, Darrelle.

At this point I have to wonder if Revis just wants to show up on gameday, play, collect his check, and not do anything in-between. If he really is hurt, and I’m not saying he isn’t, then shame on him for not being in top shutdown shape. If not, then he just might be the smartest one!

I’m kinda agreeing w/ you, ld3. The more this pans out, the more DR looks like a bum.

In my opinion, the Jets are pretty overrated.  I still don’t have much faith in Sanchez, but we will see.  I think the Patriots are still the class of that division…we’ll see what happens when they play Sunday.

Not to sound too much like a homer but my overrated team just beat the AFC-East class. Still though, I see your point - DR isn’t/wasn’t in football shape, KJ is out for the season and I’m still concerned about the afteshocks after they dumped Faneca after last season. I loved some of the moves they’ve made (receiver corps, LT) but there are others I just don’t know about yet.

If this game is any indication the Jets are good enough to win the division but we have a million more games to go through.

That must have been some halftime speech by Ryan. The Jets came out a different team in that 2nd half.
