SouthernPigskin.com Recruiting Analyst Luke Stampini provides an update on Pahokee (FL) star Antonio Ford.
Pahokee lineman Antonio Ford got the first of his five official visits out of the way this past weekend as he travelled to West Virginia University. The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Ford visited Morgantown with fellow Pahokee teammates Richard Ash, Chris Dunkley and Fred Pickett.
“It was real cool,” said Ford of the visit. “It’s like a big family up there and I feel real comfortable around the coaches and players.”
The Mountaineers faced East Carolina Saturday and the atmosphere at the game impressed Ford.
“It was real live,” explained Ford. “They had a lot of fans there and they really support their team.”
In the coming weeks and months, Ford has a few more schools he plans to take officially visit.
“I plan on going to Oklahoma State in a little bit, Purdue and Wake Forest. I might go to Louisville.”
Ford is scheduled to graduate early and enroll in the college of his choice in January.
“I’m trying to get these visits out of the way and then make a decision,” said Ford. “It’s important (I enroll early) so I can get used to the campus and know where I need to go. I’ll be up to speed by the time football starts.”
This Friday Pahokee hosts a talented Dwyer team in a game that has been talked about since the schedule was released.
“They are a really good team. We have to play hard. I know they have two defensive ends, Matt Elam, and Robert Clark all on defense and their defense will be ready to fire.”

We at SoFLAFootball.com pride ourselves on seeing each and every one of the top prospects in person, if not during the fall in a game from the sidelines, at a camp, combine, or 7-on-7 event. Unlike other sites we do not base our evaluations solely on film or highlights. We want to feel the speed of the game, verify the caliber of talent a prospect if facing, and measure up prospects by being right next to them.
