*This game was much more lopsided than even the scoreboard indicated. Florida was in complete control and could have won by more. The Gators were up 31-0 early in the third quarter and that was with a relatively conservative offensive gameplan. The Seminoles came nowhere near scoring in the first two quarters, barely even crossing midfield. The FSU defense didn't even come close to slowing down UF, really the entire game. The 'Noles' best play of the game was a blocked extra point. After the first two drives in the second half, the Gators held the total yardage advantage 335 to 62. FSU mustered some productivity late against many UF defensive reserves.
*Congratulations to this Florida Gator senior class. In addition to setting a school record, this bunch ended their regular season as the winningest senior class in SEC history; a stunning accomplishment considering the tradition of the league. An SEC Championship and a potential national championship awaits.
*Tim Tebow, who saw Colt McCoy have a huge night last Thursday, may have jumped right back in the Heisman Trophy lead with a five touchdown game where he was nearly perfect. It was a fitting home finish for Tebow as he played one of the most efficient games of his career, and that's saying something. You couldn't have written a better Swamp finale for Tebow.
*Another major difference between these two teams? Florida converted 10 of 13 third downs, while Florida State reached the sticks on just 2 of 12 tries. When it mattered most, the Gators were significantly better than the Seminoles. Florida moved down the football field with ease while every yard was a fight for FSU.
*You have to wonder why Florida State is hesitant to get Greg Reid the football. The nation's leading punt return man, he had 35 yards on one kickoff return and 26 on his other return. He is without question the Seminoles' most athletic player. Why he doesn't get offensive touches and handle all return duties is really baffling.
