SouthernPigskin.com Senior Editor B.J. Bennett reflects on Georgia Tech's 34-9 win over Virginia. Twitter.com/SouthernPigskin.

*The eight game losing streak is over. Somewhere Scott Sisson is smiling. For the first time since 1990, Georgia Tech has beaten Virginia at Scott Field. The Yellow Jackets, who lost to UVA last season, have to feel good about finally ending that streak. ACC fans have to feel good knowing the Cavaliers, who lost to William & Mary, no longer lead the ACC Coastal Division. The last time GT won in Charlottesville, they won the national championship. We're just saying.

*Josh Nesbitt just keeps on keeping on, doesn't he? Another game, two more rushing touchdowns. In his last three games, all league tilts, Nesbitt has eight rushing touchdowns and over 340 yards rushing. The production is truly remarkable. He is doing a great job as the leader and catalyst for this machine of an offense. Also,if Jonathan Dwyer and Anthony Allen both top the 100-yard mark on you, it's probably going to be a long afternoon. And it was for the Virginia defense. Dwyer rushed for a game-high 125 yards. Allen galloped for 103 yards and two touchdowns, averaging over nine yards per carry. In all, the Yellow Jackets rushed for 362 yards and compiled 20 first downs.

*How good is Demaryius Thomas? Georgia Tech had 85 yards passing. Thomas had 76 yards receiving, averaing 25 yards per grab. With three 100-yard games on his resume already, Thomas is averaging 25 yards per catch on the season. Get this; he has a catch of at least 50 yards in each of the last four games.

*Give the much-maligned Georgia Tech defense a lot of credit. Virginia mustered just 198 total yards and was just 2 of 11 on third downs. The front seven provided pressure all afternoon and the linebackers did a good playing sideline-to-sideline. The Yellow Jacket secondary had their best game of the year, not giving UVA QB Jameel Sewell much at all downfield.

*We understand Virginia got behind early, but the Cavaliers attempted just seven rushes with their running backs. Mikell Simpson ran six times for four yards and Rashawn Jackson carried one time for zero yards. When you are down, you obviously have to throw more. But perhaps UVA shouldn't have been so quick to abandon the ground game.
