SouthernPigskin.com Recruiting Analyst Luke Stampini updates the offer list for 2011 tight end Nick O'Leary.

Last season as a sophomore Dwyer 2011 tight end Nick O’Leary burst onto the scene as one of the top prospects in his class. Tuesday, O’Leary caught a glimpse of what the recruiting process will be like for him over the next year and half before he is able to sign his letter of intent in February of 2011. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder took the big day in stride, just like any other day.

“That I know of, Florida, FIU, and South Carolina,” said O’Leary on written offers he received the first day the NCAA allows for members of the 2011 class.

O’Leary was told he received an offer from Tennessee as well, but did not get to the coaches office to see for himself. With or without the Vols’ written offer, O’Leary is happy this day finally came.

“It’s definitely the start of recruiting and all of that,” explained O’Leary. “I’ve been looking forward to this, it’s a dream come true for me. I’ve always wanted to go play college football.”

While his dreams came to fruition Tuesday, look for O’Leary to put the whole process on the back burner for the next several months.

“I’m probably going to wait until the end of the season to make any kind of decision with schools, not get big headed or anything. Just work on football right now and not worry about colleges until the season is over.”

The season is fast approaching for Dwyer, and it probably could not start in a more impressive fashion than hosting the Glades Central Raiders. The Raiders toppled Dwyer 6-0 in a four-overtime thriller in monsoon conditions.

“We are ready to play for real. We have been talking about it for a long time. We are just ready to play this week, everybody is fired up.”

O’Leary and several teammates plan to visit Columbus, Ohio to take in the Ohio State-Southern Cal game September 12.

We at SoFLAFootball.com pride ourselves on seeing each and every one of the top prospects in person, if not during the fall in a game from the sidelines, at a camp, combine, or 7-on-7 event. Unlike other sites we do not base our evaluations solely on film or highlights. We want to feel the speed of the game, verify the caliber of talent a prospect if facing, and measure up prospects by being right next to them.
