TRUE ANSWER:
Great Movie Crooks Beat Nazi.
How do you think the ACC is doing so far this season?
Well I think we have some teams doing very well, we have some teams that have been inconsistent the first month, and I think we have some teams that have struggled early.
TRUE ANSWER:
Most Neutral Conference Ranking Experts Have The Acc Lower Than The 5 Other Bcs Conferences And The Mountain West Conference And D1a Independents.
We Are One Game From Half The Season Mark. Once Again, Former Big East School Vt Is Dominating The Acc.
What are the future plans for the ACC title game?
We are in Tampa this year. Then for the next two years we will move to Charlotte. Then we will make decisions from that point to see where we go in the future.
TRUE ANSWER:
Swofford Forgets To Admit The Gator Bowl Said We Lost Money Go Find Another Place, No One Bowl Wanted The Game, So They Have Been Moving It Around To Spread Losses Over Various Bowls, The Acc Cannot Sell Out Its Championship Game Since Expansion. It Is Something He Is Ashamed Of, Cannot Admit In Public, And Does Not Know What Will Happen If He Cannot Sell Out The Acc Championship Game.
Are you pleased with how the conference has progressed since adding Virginia Tech, Miami, and Boston College?
Yes I am. The transition from a nine to twelve member league from an internal standpoint has gone extraordinarily well; the functioning from the league from within and the acceptance of the new members.
TRUE ANSWER:
Notice He Talks About The Future And Potential But He Avoids Talking About The Past And Today Results. Only Vt Once Again Is Dominating And Most Acc Schools Have Been Overrated Again For A 6th Year Since Expansion. The Big East Has Been Rated Higher Than The Acc And Won More Bcs Bowls Than The Acc This Decade, Since Expansion, And Today. Swofford Talks About The Future Of The Acc Because He Cannot Talk About The Past Since Expansion, And Today, Proving His Expansion Has Not Worked Out As Planned, Proposed, And Seen On The Field Of Play. Acc Is 2-8 In Bcs Bowls. It Is Being Called The Abandon Championship Conference. The Acc Has Not Put A Second Team In Any Bcs Bowls And The Big East Did Not Lose Its Bcs Bowls Bid But Have Been Renewed And Has An Actual Higher Rating Than The Acc Since Expansion When Evaluating Bcs Conferences.
Were there any other teams considered in the expansion?
There were others that were considered and others that were interested.
TRUE ANSWER:
Yes, It Is True, But He Fails To Mention Bc And Miami Have Less Attendance Than They Did When They Were In The Big East. Miami, Bcs, And Vt All From The Big East Actually Dominate Most Of The Old Acc Schools In Football Since Expansion. In Addition, Vt, Miami, And Bc Lower The Acc Rpi, Rating, And Tv Money Stayed The Same In Basketball. The Nfl Draft Did Increase With Acc Players Taken But Mostly Due To Miami, Vt, And Bc Big East Players Recruited When They Were In The Big East.
Big Deal, The Acc Still Stinks As A Football Conference And The Big East Expanded Basketball Markets And Schools Passed The Acc In Basketball Money Making, Tv, And New Market. As Well As Setting New Ncaa Records.
Are there any plans for realigning the divisions?
Not at this time. We haven’t had any serious conversations about that.
TRUE ANSWER:
The Acc Cannot Change Anything It Is What Swofford Created And It Has Not Performed As Expected. Why It Is Called The Abandon Championship Conference.
Are there any T.V. deals in the works?
Yes. Our current television contract both in basketball and football run out after the 2010-2011 academic year.
TRUE ANSWER:
Swofford Bragged How The Acc Added 37% In Tv Revenues When They Added Miami, Vt, And Bc. But He Fails To Mention That Tv Money Did Not Make More Money Once 12 Schools Divided The Pot Instead Of 9 Schools. He Will Talk About How Tv Money Increased By Percentages But Not The Overall Net Money. Now That The Acc Has Not Increased Attendance At Miami Or Bc, And Has Failed To Provide Sell Outs For The Acc Championship Games, The Acc Will Not Be Looking At More Money Per School That Must Keep Up With More Costs For Travel Expenses From Bc To Miami.
Also, The Acc Never Increased Its Money On Acc Basketball Since The Two Game Series Were Dropped And Actually Lost Ratings Due To Football Expansion. Big East Basketball Passed The Acc In New And More Markets, Attendance, Tv Money, Recruiting, And Is Now The Premier Basketball Conference While Acc Football Has Not Lived Up To It’s Billing Since Expansion.
What is the chance of an ACC network in the near future?
I think there is a chance. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a probability. That worked well for the BIG 10 but that doesn’t mean that the same circumstances work well with other conferences. It’s another model that is out there that we will certainly do our due diligence in taking a look at.
TRUE ANSWER:
When The Acc Took Miami From The Big East The Acc Did Not Add A New Market, Fsu Had The Florid Market. When Vt Was Added Once Again No New Market Because Virginia Was Already In The Acc. Only Bc In New England Gave The Acc A New Market And That Was Not Much And The Expenses Of Flying And Staying There Is More Costly Every Year. The Big Problem Is The Acc Does Not Have The Schools With Large Student Populations That Will Support An Acc Channel Like The Big-10, Big-12 And Sec. But Swofford Will Not Say It, Because He Still Looks Stupid From His Expansion Plans That Went Wrong. The Acc Is Not Even Seen In New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, And Most Of New England. Uconn Will Pass Bc Football Just Like It Did In Basketball. Meanwhile, The Big East Added, Midwest Markets, Bigger Cities Coverage’s,(With Marquette, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Ucincy, Cincy, Ohio, Ulou, Louisville Kentucky, Depaul, Chicago Illinois) And Kept Florida With Usf. Something Swofford Never Expected And Was Outright Beaten On After His Expansion.
There have been some grumbling about the ACC officiating this season. Is there a plan to improve the officiating or is it just early season hiccups?
Ohm I think the latter.
TRUE ANSWER:
Conferences Everywhere Manipulate Refs Calls To Get More Teams Into Bowls To Make More Money Every Year. The Acc Is No Different.
Do you think the ACC is close to having a team in the national title game?
Well we could. You look at Virginia Tech and they are sixth in the nation. They obviously seem to be getting better every week
TRUE ANSWER:
The Question Itself Is The True Answer. No Other Acc Schools Have A Chance At The Bcs Ncs Except Vt Right Now Or In The Future. Swofford Has No Idea And There Are Just Two Schools Ranked Right Now In Miami And Vt That Is Only 16% Of The Conference. Maybe Swofford Will Use The Refs To Make Sure Vt Goes 11-1 To Get In The Bcs Ncs, But I Will Admit, Vt Played A Good Schedule. I Also Compliment The Acc Schools They Play A Far Tougher Ooc Just Like The Pac-10 And Big East, Than The Big-12-Big Frail Conference, Big-1o-Big Pretend Conference, And Sec-Suck Ooc Conferences.
There have been some rumors of Boston College leaving the conference, could you shed some light on that?
The public comment from Boston College athletic director Gene DiFillippo says it all. “Boston College will be in the ACC as long as there is an ACC.”
TRUE ANSWER:
Bc Is Too Far Away From The Heart Of The Acc Conference. Notre Dame Dropped Them In Playing Football, They Have One Of The Lowest Attendance Averages Since Joining The Acc Even With 10+ Winning Game Seasons, Recruiting Has Dropped Off In Many Big East States Due To Not Being Seen, This Will Be The Last Year They Will Have Big East Recruits That Are Now Players, Tom O’brien Left Them For Ncst. Bc Basketball More Every Year Cannot Compete With The Big East Teams, Recruiting, And Tv Markets. Bc’s Ad Gene Defillippo Will Be Fired Soon For Going To A Conference Where They Are Not Making More Money After Expenses Than Hen They Wee In The Big East. Losing Notre Dame That Has Switched To 3 Other Big East Schools Is Really Upsetting To Bc Alumni, Higher Ups, And The Priests That Run Bc.
If Penn State Ever Wants To Come Into The Acc, They Will Kick Out Bc.
The BCS has had its ups and downs in popularity with the fans through the years. Do you think the system will eventually be widely accepted?
Well I don’t know. It is hard to predict the future.
TRUE ANSWER:
Swofford Finally Told The Truth When He Said, “It Is Hard Top Predict The Future.” After All, Acc Expansion Plans For Football And Basketball Have Been A Disaster He Cannot Admit But Is Proven By The Numbers. I Agree With Him On The Bcs Remaining Better Than A Playoff. If There Is Ever Playoff, Many Games Will Not Count Near The End Of Season. Plus, Why Change If Fans And Tv Money Is Growing.
There is the possibility of multiple BCS busters this season in Houston, TCU, and Boise State. Do you think this could hurt the BCS?
Well I don’t know. I think it depends on where you sit and what your point of view of all that is
TRUE ANSWER:
Thank God The Acc Is A Bcs Bowl Conference, The Acc Is The Only Bcs Conference That Did Not Deserve To Put Teams In The Bcs Bowls The Last 6 Years And When They Got Into The Bcs Bowls, The Acc Won Just 1 Game In 6 Years.
Do you think the Orange Bowl is the best BCS bowl for the ACC?
I think the Orange Bowl with its tradition and history and location is a natural fit for the ACC. We are extremely pleased to have that tie in. The expansion of our league actually brought that to fruition and it is something that has been very, very good for our conference. It is something we look forward to for many years to come.
TRUE ANSWER:
Swofford Is Right Here.
Are there any plans to add another BCS conference?
That depends on the formula..
TRUE ANSWER:
SCHOOLS IN NON-BCS CONFERENCES DO PUT INTO THE MONEY NEEDED To Maintain Good Football Programs. Do Not Play Tougher Schedules And Do Not Produce More Fans For Attendance And To Fill More Bowls. It Is Better To Keep 66 Schools In The Bcs Than Expand Into 72 Or More. We Can Add In More Bowls Without More Schools.
As the chairman of the BCS, what do you think about a playoff system?
I think it is a system that the majority of people within major college football are not ready to accept.
TRUE ANSWER:
He Is The Chair Of The Bcs This Year And That Was A Very Honest Answer And Protects The Bcs Has It Is, Not What Others Think It To Be. After Swofford Failure At Expansion, He Knows Better Than Anyone, The Best Plans Often Do Not Work Out.
In Closing, Swofford’s Acc Expansion Did Not Work Out As Planned, If The Acc Had Taken Syracuse Over Vt, And Penn State Or Pitt Over Bc, And Even Rutgers Over Miami, They Would Be A Far Better Football And Basketball Conference Regarding Markets, Recruiting Grounds, And Tv Rights.

There have been some grumbling about the ACC officiating this season. Is there a plan to improve the officiating or is it just early season hiccups?
Ohm I think the latter. I think our officiating is on par with any conference in the country. Our crews have done two national championship games and done very, very well. In Doug Rhodes I think we have a tremendous coordinator and he has brought a great deal of leadership to the position. We are probably beyond any other conference from a technology standpoint. In terms of our capabilities to evaluate and train our officials, we are using up to date technology and using it in a very timely way. I think we are in great shape when it comes to our officiating.

Do you think the ACC is close to having a team in the national title game?
Well we could. You look at Virginia Tech and they are sixth in the nation. They obviously seem to be getting better every week. People forget that they played Alabama and led after three quarters. I think that team is a potential national championship contender. Could there be others? Possibly yes. If they continue to win and continue to develop. I think we have some programs in Miami and Florida State that are on their way back. If you look at where they are and the talent level they have and the way they can perform on any particular Saturday. A lot of that is developing maturity. We have a lot of other programs that I think are developing very well that will show up during this season and as well as future seasons.

The BCS has had its ups and downs in popularity with the fans through the years. Do you think the system will eventually be widely accepted?
Well I don’t know. It is hard to predict the future. And obviously we have another four-year cycle of the BCS that will largely mirror what the BCS is today. We have had a number of discussions around the table about potential changes. Mike Slive of the SEC and I brought up a plus one model two years ago that we felt would be a good compromise and improvement over the current system. It did not receive the success it needed to move it forward. The Mountain West proposed a number of things this past spring that there was very little support for. What we continue to see in this point in time is that all things considered, the majority of the presidents, athletic directors, and coaches at our respective institutions across the board in every conference want to continue with the system that we have. It is imperfect and I think everybody recognizes that. It is controversial but it is also successful. In the sense that we can look at college football as a whole and I doubt this is coincidental, it is more popular than ever. It has become more popular than ever during the BCS’s existence over the past 11 years. We will just have to see where our institutions want to take it. There are some people in every conference that would like to see a playoff but they continue to be in the minority. A lot of the discussions that I hear is that if the BCS didn’t exist the system would go back to what it used to be; with the major bowls and teams just simply going to bowls as opposed to having a playoff. It would be up in air in which direction they would go. I don’t think it is a given there would be a playoff if the BCS wasn’t there.

There is the possibility of multiple BCS busters this season in Houston, TCU, and Boise State. Do you think this could hurt the BCS?
Well I don’t know. I think it depends on where you sit and what your point of view of all that is. The highest ranked team in the non-qualifying conferences is automatically in if they are in the top 12. Any other teams that are in the mix would simply be available for the at large bid and that would be up to the bowls if they are chosen or not. One of the things that the BCS has done is given significantly more access to the major bowls to the conferences other than the six automatic qualifying conferences. It is has given them a lot more access to the bowls and to more money.

Are there any plans to add another BCS conference?
That depends on the formula. There is a formula that determines automatic qualification. If a conference meets those standards over a four-year period of time then a conference could be added. We just have to wait and see if a conference meets those standards. Right now there are six and there could be seven. We just have to wait and see.
TRUE ANSWER:

As the chairman of the BCS, what do you think about a playoff system?
I think it is a system that the majority of people within major college football are not ready to accept. I think the average fan, when you say “would you like to see a playoff?” the immediate reaction is yes because that is what occurs in most sports in America, but college football is a little different animal because of the history and tradition of the bowls. I think the fact the bowl system coupled with the BCS has given college football the best regular season in all sports. Whether it is any of the professional leagues or any other sports in collegiate athletics because the games in the regular season are by and large the playoff. Therefore those games are very meaningful from the start of the season on. That has a lot to do with the health and popularity of the game itself. The BCS Championship Game in terms of television ratings, it outranks the NCAA Final Four, the NBA Playoffs, and the World Series. It outranks pretty much everything except the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl. There are a lot of good things going on with the system that we have but I certainly understand peoples’ interest in the possibility of having a playoff. We just have to be careful in that whatever we do in the future doesn’t inadvertently hurt the sport rather than helping it.
