Version 2.0 of the 2019 Palmetto State Player Rankings eyes expansion from a Top 20 to a Top 25 with five new names. Each new addition is bolded.

The highest new entry at #8 is SCISA-AA Player of the Year Michel Dukes of Charleston (SC) First Baptist. As a sophomore Dukes ran for over 2,200 yards while scoring 40 touchdowns in leading the Hurricanes to the State Title. He has recently picked up offers from Georgia State, South Carolina and Wake Forest.

Making his entry at #11 is giant offensive lineman Kamren McCray of Moncks Corner (SC) Berkeley. At 6-foot-6, 320-pounds, McCray is the largest player in the rankings. Last season he helped guide his team to the third round of the SCHSL-AAAA Playoffs. He recently picked up an offer from the Gamecocks.

Hard hitting linebacker Daniel Foster of Florence (SC) Wilson comes in at #19. Though the Tigers had a disappointing season at (3-8) they look primed to make a playoff run in 2017. Foster comes in at #19.

Defensive back Jaylen Mahoney played a key role in Rock Hill (SC) South Pointe’s State Championship victory over Hartsville (SC). In the decisive 27-point second quarter Mahoney picked off an errant pass which led to a score. He currently claims an offer from Miami of Ohio.

The final new entry is defensive back Jaylon Girdner of Spartanburg (SC). Last season he racked up 35 tackles, five PBU’s and one INT for the Vikings. Look for this young man to be a pivotal member on one of the elite teams in South Carolina.

Both the #1 and #2 ranked players in the state continue to add offers. Defensive end Zacch Pickens of Anderson (SC) TL Hanna recently added offers from Michigan and Virginia Tech bringing his total to nine. Roebuck (SC) Dorman outside receiver Jakoby Pinckney picked up offers from South Carolina and Virginia Tech and now boast at least seven FBS offers.

This is an early list that will continue to change throughout the year as new prospects surface on the recruiting trail.
