SouthernPigskin.com, in conjunction with ESPN Radio Savannah/Hilton Head AM 1400 & FM 104.3 and ESPN Radio Coastal Georgia AM 790, 1350 & FM 103.7, recently debuted a regional recruiting camp in Savannah, Georgia, which went down in the books as a tremendous success, with over 100 prospects in attendance. We are now proud to announce that the next “Explosive Southern Pigskin Camp” will take place on March 22nd at the Trembling Earth Recreation Complex in Waycross. Athletes will be trained by a team of former college and professional stars with the Explosive Sports network.

Covering the ACC, SEC, Southern Conference, and now the Sun Belt, SouthernPigskin.com is introducing one-day combines as part of a new detailed recruiting platform focused on prospects in southeast Georgia and northeast Florida. SouthernPigskin.com, along with associated social networking sites, partnered ESPN Radio stations and ESPNCoastal.com, will provide original content and insight on athletes in the area. In addition to expanded coverage, the goal is to promote an elevated profile for local players.

Based out of Kingsland, Georgia, Explosive Sports Training is the region’s leader in individual athletic development. Both instruction and evaluation will be led by head coach Dundee Dilworth, a Gulf War veteran and a trainer well-respected by the biggest names in high school and college coaching. A team of assistants, featuring 1999 Orange Bowl MVP and Super Bowl XXXV champion Travis Taylor, will offer group-specific teachings built towards improving the technique of participants.

“This is a great opportunity for young players to learn from guys with invaluable experience,” camp spokesman Taylor, the 10th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, explained. “The raw talent level out there is unbelievable. If you can improve your fundamentals early in your career, it can really give you a leg up on the competition. Learning from the best and competing against the best can only make you better.”

With a background as a student-assistant at a Division I football program and a prep reporter for Scout.com, SouthernPigskin.com editor Matt Osborne will head a redesigned, specialized look at recruiting. Analysis will be heavily rooted in on-site observations. Camp commentary will be shared across the Southern Pigskin Radio Network on the syndicated radio show “Three & Out” with Osborne, publisher B.J. Bennett and Kevin Thomas, operations director for the local ESPN Radio affiliates.

“We are excited to showcase athletes from a place where some of the best high school football in the country is played. These camps give everyone a chance to come together and see who measures up,” Osborne added.

Camp two is set for Saturday, March 22nd at the Trembling Earth Recreation Complex next to Ware County High School in Waycross. Sessions will be paired with a variety of academic, civic and social interactions featuring the insight of former Georgia Tech/NFL running back Joe Burns.
