The nation's No. 1 prospect chooses the Crimson Tide.

Da'Shawn Hand, considered by many recruiting services to be the top prospect in the 2014 class, announced on Thursday afternoon that he will play his college football for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Hand, a defensive end from Woodbridge, Virginia, selected the Crimson Tide over his other two finalists, Florida and Michigan. He is Alabama's 23rd verbal commitment in the 2014 class.

A tremendous athlete coming off of the edge, there is even a possibility that Hand could add some additional weight and slide to defensive tackle later in his career.

His commitment once again gives Alabama the top recruiting class, currently, in 2014.
