When Zalontae Hillery arrives at Miami, he will reunite with a prep teammate in former Red Terror quarterback Deejay Dallas.
Glynn Academy offensive lineman Zalontae Hillery out of Brunswick, Georgia signed with Miami on Wednesday morning, joining head coach Mark Richt as part of a standout class for the Hurricanes. Many national services consider Miami's haul to be one of the top 15 in the country.
At 6'6'', 280 pounds, Hillery has rare physical skills and and a high upside as a prototype tackle prospect at the next level. He is a fluid athlete with an ideal frame and impressive fundamentals. Hillery committed to the Hurricanes over the summer before his senior season and followed through on National Signing Day.
Moving forward, Hillery will head to Coral Gables comfortable and confident in his decision, excited for a number of reasons.
"I feel like I'm going to fit in, be able to be myself and play how I want to play," he explained on the Southern Pigskin Radio Network. "I feel like it can bring me up as a man and I can be successful in both football and having that degree."
When Hillery arrives, he will reunite with a prep teammate in former Red Terror quarterback Deejay Dallas, a recent early enrollee with the Hurricanes. Hillery and Dallas helped Glynn Academy go 23-5 over the past two seasons, advancing to the class AAAAAA state championship game in 2015.
"I'm going to have someone there who I know, that I can relate to. He has been a big part of the recruiting process," Hillery added.
Hillery chose Miami over many other offers, including Alabama, Clemson and Florida.
